1. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISKS

I understand that participation in activities at City Slopes Indoor Ski & Ride (“City Slopes”) involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Skiing and snowboarding on an indoor revolving slope (treadmill system)
  • Use of rental equipment, including skis, snowboards, boots, bindings, helmets, and related gear
  • Participation in lessons, camps, clinics, games, competitions, and training programs
  • Slips, falls, collisions, loss of balance, and sudden changes in speed or terrain simulation
  • Equipment malfunction, improper fit, or misuse
  • Physical exertion leading to fatigue, strain, or injury
  • Contact with instructors, staff, or other participants
  • Use of facility spaces including training areas, viewing areas, walkways, and common areas

I acknowledge that these risks may result in serious injury, permanent disability, paralysis, or death.

2. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I voluntarily choose to participate (or allow my child to participate) in activities at City Slopes and fully accept and assume all risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of City Slopes or others.

3. RELEASE OF LIABILITY

In consideration of being permitted to participate, I hereby release, waive, and discharge:

City Slopes LLC, its owners, officers, employees, instructors, contractors, volunteers, affiliates, landlords, and equipment providers

from any and all liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage arising from participation in activities at City Slopes, including those caused by negligence.

4. INDEMNIFICATION

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless City Slopes from any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising from my participation or the participation of a minor under my care.

5. EQUIPMENT USE & RENTALS

I understand and agree that:

  • Rental equipment is provided for convenience and may not prevent injury
  • I am responsible for ensuring proper fit and use of equipment
  • I will notify staff immediately if equipment appears unsafe or improperly fitted
  • Bindings and safety systems may not release under all circumstances
  • Helmets are strongly recommended but do not eliminate risk


6. PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

I agree that:

  • I (or my child) am physically able to participate
  • I will follow all instructions, safety rules, and staff guidance
  • I will not participate under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • City Slopes reserves the right to remove any participant for unsafe behavior


7. MEDICAL CONSENT

In the event of injury or emergency, I authorize City Slopes staff to:

  • Administer basic first aid
  • Contact emergency services
  • Secure medical treatment on my behalf

I accept responsibility for any associated medical costs.

8. MINOR PARTICIPANTS

If signing for a minor, I certify that:

  • I am the parent or legal guardian
  • I consent to the minor’s participation
  • I agree to all terms on their behalf
  • I accept full responsibility for the minor’s safety and actions


9. PHOTO & MEDIA RELEASE

I grant City Slopes permission to use photos or videos of me (or my child) for marketing, social media, and promotional purposes, without compensation.

If I DO NOT grant permission for media use, I will notify City Slopes by email (hello@cityslopes.com), in person, or by phone.

10. GENERAL TERMS

  • This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan
  • If any portion is deemed invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect
  • This agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law


11. ACKNOWLEDGMENT

I have read this agreement, fully understand its terms, and sign it voluntarily. I understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights, including the right to sue.
