Everyone who wishes to shoot in this facility whether using their own guns or the Family Shooting Center rental firearms must sign below. It is a requirement of our insurance to have all patrons sign the waiver. Thank you for your understanding. I submit that I am not legally denied the right to possession or use of a firearm. I submit that I am not a user of marijuana nor am I under the influence of a mind altering substance that would legally preclude my possession of a firearm or ammunition. The undersigned for himself and his executors and assigns, releases the Family Shooting Center (FSC) from any and all liability for personal injury or property damage arising out of the use of the equipment and/or facilities of FSC and agree to hold FSC free, clear and harmless for and indemnify FSC from responsibility for any and all claims and demands for personal injury or property damage arising out of such use. I agree to be held financially responsible for any knowing and willful act of destruction to the range or range equipment by myself or persons for whom I am responsible. Main Phone 303.680.5401 Basic Gun Handling Rules ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
ALWAYS keep your finger off of the trigger until ready to shoot.
ALWAYS keep the action open and unloaded until ready to shoot. Check-in All guns must be unloaded and cased when entering this facility. Guns will be uncased only on the firing line or in the presence of a gunsmith/range officer.
Carry guns are allowed and must remain in holster until on the firing line. Then, shooter must declare to Range Officer and follow commands to unholster if the shooter wishes to use firearm on the firing line. No open carry guns will be allowed downrange. Verify to the range officer at his request that the gun action is open and unloaded.
Proceed to check-in in the main office pro shop. Pay fees; sign waiver; proceed to the firing line check-in with the range officer. Do not enter the firing area without the permission of the range officer. Rifle/Pistol Firing Line Range officer will assign a shooting position and will orient the shooter.
Place the gun case onto the shooting bench with the muzzle pointing down range. Do not operate the action until the range officer gives permission. Open the bolt and remove the gun from the case keeping it pointed down range. When finished shooting, reverse the process. DO NOT UNCASE OR CASE GUNS BEHIND THE FIRING LINE.
During a cease fire, no handling of guns. Guns shall be fully unloaded and actions shall be open with open bolt indicators (OBI’s) in place if available. Shooters must then step behind the yellow line.
Obey all Range Officer commands. Obey all safety rules.
Guns shall be unloaded when transferred from one individual to another.
On the rifle firing line, all muzzles must extend through the window port during firing.
Hearing and eye protection is mandatory during firing under the shelter. Protection is not required when outside of the shelter. Protection is required during live fire if on the concrete apron at the pistol range.
Place all fired brass in the brass buckets provided. RSO will dispose of unfired rounds.
The range officer will periodically call “cease fire” for the benefit of a target change. Each change is set for the top and bottom of the hour in 30 min increments. Obey time calls promptly. Failure to do so will result in the loss of your shooting position.
No shooting from the hip. No drawing of a firearm from a holster unless participating in a class for which this practice is allowed.
Incendiary ammunition is not allowed.
Only paper targets are allowed on the range.
Shotgun slugs ONLY on the Rifle Range, 00 Buck, #2 and #3 shot may be fired only on the Pistol range.
.50 cal. rifles and class 3 firearms are not allowed on the range. Shotgun Ranges for Hand Throwers / Auto Trap / 5 Stand / Patterning Board Place the gun case with the gun muzzle pointing down range. Place guns in the gun racks provided or on the ground at the firing line. All guns must be pointed downrange or in the air at all times.
No shot larger than No. 7½ is allowed on the trap ranges (7½, 8, 9 shot may be used).
#4 through #9 shot is allowed only at the patterning board.
Slugs ONLY on Rifle Range, 00 Buck, #2 and #3 shot may be fired only on the Pistol range.
No targets other than approved clay birds are allowed to be shot on the shotgun range. Keep the birds against the rubber stops when throwing hand trap. Do not make adjustments to the machines. Shooter must stand close to the thrower, on either side. Range Officer will advise.
Shooters are not allowed in front of the firing line at any time. Collecting of unbroken birds is not allowed. Archery / Knife, Tomahawk, Axe Throwing Ranges Archers / Throwers will wait for a Range Safety Officer to check them in prior to beginning their session.
Check in is at the main office / pro shop and equipment is available for rent if desired.
No broadhead arrows allowed on Family Shooting Center Targets - Archers may use them on their own target blocks or 3d targets MUST USE BROADHEAD ARROWS ON YOUR OWN TARGETS.
Target changes are at the shooters descretion and NO ONE is allowed downrange until all Archers have ceased firing.
Please report any damage or lost arrows to Range Safety Officer. All Ranges No pets are allowed on the range. Pets must remain in vehicles while at the shooting concession.
No alcohol is allowed on the range. No one will be allowed to shoot if they are suspected of having been drinking. You will be asked to leave the range if that is the case. The same is true of drugs, legal or illegal. No one will be allowed to shoot while under the influence.
No toy guns are allowed on the ranges. BB guns/pellet guns are allowed if being shot on the firing line- please inquire in the pro shop for further instructions.
No one under the age of 18 will be allowed to shoot on the range without proper adult permission.
No firing at wild life is permitted. Any act of such will result in a call to the Park Rangers for appropriate action and prosecution.
Cigarette/cigar smoking, chewing tobacco are not allowed on the firing line. There are designated smoking areas immediately behind and to the sides of the Rifle/Pistol Ranges.
Do not pull a malfunctioning firearm off the line without the range officer’s approval. Failure to follow the rules will subject you to expulsion from the range. RSO’s have full authority to expel an uncooperative shooter. No refunds will be granted in these cases.
