Site Waiver for Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Pilot Requirements: All pilots flying Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) must be current members of both the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (USHPA) and the Jackson Hole Free Flight Club (JHFFC). All pilots flying JHMR must have a minimum Intermediate (P3/H3) rating or to fly here. New or visiting P3/H3 pilots are required to obtain a site introduction from a JHFFC member with an Advanced (P4/H4) rating when first flying this site. It is highly recommended that P3/H3 pilots continue to fly with a local mentor beyond their initial flight. Exceptions may be made on an individual basis for P0-P2 students currently under direct radio and visual supervision of a Jackson Hole Paragliding (JHPG) instructor during the course of training. Pilots must have their current USHPA membership card, current Jackson Hole Free Flight Club (JHFFC) membership sticker on their helmet, and fill out a liability release at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) Mountain Sports School prior to arriving at launch. Foreign pilots must acquire a USHPA membership. All pilots are required to have valid lift access before loading the tram, gondola or other JHMR lift.
All pilots must abide by the USHPA’s recommended operating limitations for his/her rating. All pilots must fly an EN/LTF certified paraglider with a helmet and reserve parachute. Radios are also highly recommended. Pilots must maintain a minimum of 250’ of clearance at all times from all structures including lift towers, cables, buildings, the tram dock, and other JHMR infrastructure as well as ski runs. I Agree Launches: Rendezvous Bowl Launch: Lay out wings above or below the traverse across the top of the bowl, so as not to interfere with traffic. Always yield to skiers and foot traffic. All activity during winter season must be completed prior to ski patrol sweep at 3:30pm. Rendezvous Summit Launch: Advanced-rated (P4/H4) pilots only. Gondola Launch: Lay out in the designated launch only. Launching from the deck is prohibited. Gondola launch is closed to solo pilots during the winter season due to congestion. I Agree Miscellaneous: All pilots must land at the designated landing zone (LZ) adjacent to Apres Vous Rd & Moose Wilson Rd., across from the Ranch Lot. Please land in the MIDDLE of the designated landing zone, away from the fence and road. Commercial tandem paragliding is permitted only through JHPG. All other solicitation is prohibited. I Agree Mini-wings and speed wings are not allowed within the boundaries of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Per USHPA, "Mini-Wings are defined as wings specifically sold by manufacturers and described in the owner’s manual for Mini-Wing.
