Nature Discovery Summer Camp

Acknowledgment of Parental/Guardian Responsibility, Assumption of Risk, and Release of Liability


I understand that during my child's participation in this Gila Resources Information Project (GRIP)/Silver City Watershed Keepers (SCWK) Nature Discovery Summer Camp, my child may be exposed to a variety of hazards and risks, foreseen or unforeseen, which are inherent in the summer camp and cannot be eliminated without destroying the unique character of the event. These inherent risks include, but are not limited to, the dangers of serious personal injury, property damage, and death from exposure to the hazard of travel. GRIP/SCWK has not tried to contradict or minimize my understanding of these risks. I know that Injuries and Damages can occur by natural causes or activities of other persons, animals, camp participants, camp leaders and assistants or third parties, either as a result of negligence or because of other reasons. I understand that risk of such Injuries and Damages are involved in events such as this GRIP/SCWK Nature Discovery Summer Camp.

In consideration for my acceptance as a parent/guardian of my child participating in this event, I confirm my understanding that:

The event officially begins and ends at the location(s) designated by GRIP/SCWK.The camp does include transportation to field trips and to/from the camp location if requested by me.

If I decide to have my child leave early, and not to complete the camp as planned, I assume all risks inherent in my decision to collect my child and waive all liability against GRIP/SCWK arising from that decision. 

This Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law. If any provision or any part of any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or legally unenforceable for any reason, the remainder of this Agreement shall not be affected thereby and shall remain valid and fully enforceable.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, I agree to WAIVE, DISCHARGE CLAIMS, AND RELEASE FROM LIABILITY GRIP/SCWK, its officers, directors, employees, agents, camp leaders, interns and volunteers from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from, Injuries and Damages, even if caused by negligence of GRIP/SCWK, its officers, directors, employees, agents, leaders, interns, and volunteers, in any way connected with the camp. I further agree to HOLD HARMLESS GRIP/SCWK, its officers, directors, employees, agents, camp leaders, interns and volunteers, from any claims, damages, injuries or losses caused by my own child while a participant in this event. I understand and intend that this assumption of risk and release is binding upon my child's heirs, executors, administrators and assigns.

I have read this document in its entirety and I freely and voluntarily assume on behalf of my child all risks of such Injuries and Damages and notwithstanding such risks, I agree to allow my child to participate in this event.

Photography Release - I grant GRIP/SCWK permission to use my child's likeness in a photograph or video in any and all of its publications, including but not limited to all of GRIP/SCWK’s printed and digital publications. I understand and agree that any photograph or video using my child's likeness will become the property of GRIP/SCWK and will not be returned. I acknowledge that since my child's participation is voluntary, my child will receive no financial compensation.
