RANGE RULES

 

THE FUNDEMENTAL NRA RULES FOR SAFE GUN HANDLING ARE:

  1. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
  2. Always keep your finger OFF the trigger until ready to shoot.
  3. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to shoot.

 

WHEN USING A GUN, ALWAYS FOLLOW THESE RULES:

  1. Know your target and what is beyond. Make sure the down-range is unoccupied.
  2. Be sure the gun is safe to operate.
  3.  Be thoroughly familiar with how the gun operates.
  4. Use only correct ammunition for your gun.
  5. Wear appropriate ear and eye protection.
  6. NEVER use alcohol or drugs before or while shooting.
  7. Unattended guns should not be accessible to unauthorized persons.

 

REMEMBER: TREAT EVERY GUN AS A LOADED GUN!

 

BE AWARE THAT CERTAIN TYPES OF GUNS AND MANY SHOOTING ACTIVITIES REQUIRE ADDITIONAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.

 

 

 

 

RANGE AGREEMENT

 

1. Hazardous activity

I ACKNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTAND THAT SHOOTING ACTIVITIES ARE INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS and involve both known and unanticipated risks which could result in damage or destruction of property and physical or emotional injury, including paralysis or death, of myself or of other persons. The risks include, but are not limited to: being shot by or shooting myself or others; firearm malfunction, partial or total loss of eyesight or hearing; inhalation or other harmful contact with lead or other contaminants; and being struck by flying or falling objects. I understand that such risks cannot be eliminated without compromising the essential qualities of shooting activities.

 


 

2. Premises

I FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTAND THAT the nature and condition of the RANGE facilities, premises and environment is such that both known and unanticipated hazards exist which create or contribute to both known and unanticipated risks inherent in entering on to the RANGE, in using RANGE facilities and in engaging in or observing any activities of any kind whatsoever while at the RANGE. The hazards include, but are not limited to: slippery, loose or falling soil and rocks; unimproved, un-maintained, or uneven terrain, walkways, steps and roads; I understand that such hazards and risks cannot be eliminated without compromising the essential qualities of the RANGE facilities, equipment, premises and environment.

 


 

3. Medical

I FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTAND THAT the RANGE has no duty to undertake first-aid or rescue operations or procedures and furthermore does not employ medical staff but has on the premises only a first aid kit in the event any such property damage or physical or emotional injury occurs, and that any such operations or procedures may result in compounded or increased damages or injuries.

 


 

4. Warranty

I FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTAND THAT the RANGE makes no warranty as to the design, manufacture, maintenance, condition or fitness for any particular purpose of any RANGE facilities or equipment, including, but not limited to: materials (firearms, ammunition, or any other item relative to Range activity) brought onto the premises by the customer/patron, firearms, ammunition, eye/hearing protection, and first-aid supplies.

 


 

5. Agreement

I EXPRESSLY AGREE TO ACCEPT AND ASSUME ANY AND ALL RISKS EXISTING ON THE RANGE INCLUDING:

  1. ABIDING BY RANGE RULES AS LISTED ABOVE AND
  2. ENTERING ON TO THE RANGE AND
  3. IN USING RANGE FACILITIES OR EQUIPMENT AND
  4. IN ENGAGING IN OR OBSERVING SHOOTING AND
  5. OTHER ACTIVITIES AT THE RANGE AND
  6. HEREBY AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS RANGE FOR ANY ACTIVITY NOT DEEMED THE EXPRESS OBLIGATION OF RANGE.


 

6. My Guests

I AGREE to assume all responsibility and liability for an act or acts of my Guests at the RANGE, even any negligent, reckless or criminal act or omission to act, ( I understand that “my Guests” includes any and all persons who are not a Member of the RANGE who enter on to the RANGE, use the RANGE facilities or engage in or observe shooting and other activities at the RANGE as a result of my express invitation, permission or consent). I agree that I will ensure that each of my Guests read and sign an “Acknowledgement of Risk, Release & Indemnity Agreement,”

 


 

7. Rules

I AGREE to abide by all RANGE Rules as listed and prescribed above and to ensure that my Guests do so as well.

 


 

8. Continuous

I FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE that it is my understanding and intent that this Agreement, and any signed written amendments or modifications to it, shall remain in full force and effect from the date of execution and ever after and shall be applicable to each and every occasion that I or my Guests enter on to the RANGE, use RANGE facilities or equipment or engage in or observe shooting and other activities at the RANGE.

 


 

9. Range Manager

The Range Manager/Operator reserves the right to assess any activity of customer/patron as unsafe to himself or other patrons at his discretion and discontinue said range use of said customer/patron.
