Studio rental rules for all Versatile Arts spaces. 

Please note: this agreement only needs to be filled out by studio renters, not participants coming in for classes/lessons/open gym.

In general

  • Follow the studio arrival and departure checklists for the space you are renting.  In particular:
    • Turn off stereo, lights, and heat when leaving if you’re last out.
    • Remember to sign in and pay for your rental.
    • Make sure the front door is locked behind you.
  • Avoid wearing perfumes or other strong scents and make sure your students don’t either.
  • No unsupervised children or pets allowed in any VA space.
  • Use only covered beverage containers and keep them at the edge of the studio.
  • Use of aerial equipment is by explicit permission only.
  • Any changing out of aerial equipment or use of pulley systems must be approved and carried out by authorized personnel.
  • All participants in aerial or acrobatic activities must fill out a VA liability waiver. 
  • If any accidents or injuries occur during your rental, you must fill out a VA incident report.

Blue Room

  • No street shoes on the blue mat area
  • Do not set water bottles or coffee cups on the VA sign – it’s not stable.
  • Vacuuming after use is appreciated
  • Do not spill out into the lobby area or Ballroom – your rental includes only the blue mat area unless explicitly told otherwise.
  • Please be sensitive to the amount of noise your group is making, especially if there are people using the ballroom.  Keep music levels low.

Ballroom (the dance studio)

  • Make sure no street shoes are worn on the dance floor and that soles are felt-covered when appropriate (e.g., salsa classes).
  • Only static and low-impact skills are allowed on the aerial points. 
  • Please be sensitive to the amount of noise your group is making, especially if there are people using the Blue room.  Keep music levels low.
  • Lift and carry ballet barres if used – do not drag.
  • Dry-mop the floor after use (use the blue industrial mop)
  • Clean any obvious smudges that were left on the mirrors.
  • Clean up any scuffs left on the floor.
  • If you notice floorboards separating, let us know – this is a natural, fixable occurrence but we need to know that it’s happening so we can address it.

Note: vacuum, mop and other cleaning supplies are found on the shelves in the storage area through the door closest to the curtain in the dance studio. Use a scrubby sponge and water to remove scuffs.
