You and your guest must adhere to the S.A.F.E.
Principle for Firearms Safety and follow the range rules and etiquette at
all times.- SAFE DIRECTION - Keep firearms pointed in a safe direction at all times.
- ALWAYS LOADED - Treat ALL firearms as if they are ALWAYS loaded.
- FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER - Keep your finger OFF the trigger, extended along the frame of the firearm, until you are ready to shoot.
- ENVIRONMENT - Know your target and beyond. Pay attention to your target, behind your target, and those around you.
Range Rules and Etiquette
- Hearing and eye protection must be worn at all
times while on a live fire range.
- Open-toed shoes (flip-flops/sandals) are not allowed on the range. Close-toed shoes must be worn on the range at all times.
- Upon hearing, "Cease Fire, Cease Fire, Cease
Fire". Stop shooting immediately and await further instructions.
- Always follow the instructions of the Range Safety
Officers (RSOs) and other Texas Gun Club personnel.
- ALL firearms
must be in a case, a range bag, or properly holstered until you are
at your assigned shooting or position.
- Do NOT un-holster or un-case a
firearm anywhere other than an assigned shooting lane.
- Firearms may only be loaded on the shooting bench at
your assigned shooting lane.
- Magazines may be loaded behind the line so long as the firearm is on the bench, cased or holstered.
- Only one (1) firearm may be discharged at a
time per assigned shooting lane.
- Only shoot at your target in your
assigned shooting lane.
- Hand to hand transfers of firearms between shooters are not permitted.
Firearms must be placed on the bench when switching shooters.
- Firearms must be safely cased or holstered prior to switching lanes.
- NEVER move forward of the firing line or shooting bench unless otherwise directed by an instructor or Range Staff.
- Firearm cleaning or other maintenance is not
permitted unless otherwise directed by management. Our Gunsmith Shop is
available for firearm maintenance and cleaning.
- Want to keep your brass? No problem, notify the staff at check in. We will provide you with a bag of brass equal to the caliber and
number of rounds shot so you do not have to pick up brass from the floor.
You may keep any brass that lands on the shooting table or use a brass catcher if you so choose.
- The Texas Gun Club standard target is provided complimentary for each PAID shooter. Targets are generally not included with discounted range fees.
- Only authorized targets are permitted at Texas Gun Club. If you bring your own target, notify the check in staff to ensure it is permitted.
- Never pick up items that have fallen under
or forward of the shooting bench.
- Place shooting bags along the back wall of the shooting range, not at the feet or under the bench. (Remember, case or un-case firearms only at the bench
- Food, drink, tobacco products (including
snuff, chewing tobacco or vaporizers) are not allowed on the range at any
time.
- You are NOT permitted to handle firearms,
ammunition or shoot on a Texas Gun Club range after consuming anything (legal or illegal) that may
potentially impair your ability to safely participate in shooting sport
activities.
- Texas Gun Club reserves the right to refuse service if we
smell alcohol, drugs or observe behavior consistent with someone
under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Pregnant women may not use our range per our own policy. If someone who is pregnant chooses to ignore our policy, they do so at their own risk. We take no responsibility for any health complications that may arise for mother or baby.
- Persons with poor health
or seizure disorders, may not use our range without a specific release
from their physician and then do so at their own risk.
- It is your responsibility to ensure you comply
with local, state or federal firearms possession laws and ordinances.
- Do not leave the firing line with a firearm
that has not been cleared and double checked that it is safe or
properly holstered in accordance with LTC laws by a license to carry
licensee.
- Repeat safety violators who refuse to correct
unsafe behavior or undergo training may be asked to participate in
additional training at their own cost or leave the premises.
- Range Safety Officers and Firearms Instructors
are always available to help if needed.
- Firearms Education Courses or Private
Instruction is available at your convenience. See a team member for

New or
Inexperienced Shooters - New or inexperienced shooters must participate
in a short 30 minute firearm familiarization course. This course is
available for a fee on a walk-in basis. Discounts are available
for groups.
- Always ask for assistance if you are unsure of
how to safely operate a firearm. We are happy to show you! Don't ever be embarrassed for not knowing, it can be very dangerous!
- At least one person per assigned shooting lane
group or party MUST demonstrate safe firearms handling knowledge and
skill prior to shooting on our range. If you are inexperienced,
unsure, or new to the shooting sports, you may be asked to take the
familiarization class.
Permitted Firearms
- All firearms and ammunition are subject to inspections. Management
reserves the right to prohibit the use of any firearm or ammunition. - Our range is designed to handle all handguns and rifles up to .50 Cal BMG! Yea! Pretty awesome!
- If you have a really large caliber firearm, just call ahead, we probably want to shoot it too so we'll find a time to make it work!
- Yes, Shotguns are permitted. We just don't like bird shot. It's messy and leaves lots of unspent powder. So only .00 Buckshot and
Slug. (See Ammunition Restrictions)
- Air Guns/Rifles (Including BB Guns) are
permitted on our range, protective equipment required.
- Automatic firearms (firearms that fire
continuously with a single press of the trigger) are available for
rent. See a team member for more information.
- NFA firearms and accessories are permitted so
long as they comply with all local, state and federal laws. You may be
asked to show proper paperwork for NFA items.
- Black powder or Muzzle Loaders are NOT
permitted.
- Large bore rifles are restricted to the 50
yard indoor range.
PROHIBITED AMMUNITION -
The following ammunition is NEVER permitted at Texas Gun Club. - SERIOUSLY - NO TRACERS, INDENDIARY, GAS, EXPLOSIVES, ROCKET LAUNCHERS, OR OTHER REDICULOUS AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED. WHILE THEY ARE FUN TO SHOOT, THEY BURN REALLY HOT AND THAT'S BAD FOR AN INDOOR RANGE!
- No armor piercing ammunition or other penetrating ammunition is allowed. (Green Tips for example)
- No Steel Shot, Steel Core or any other ammunition that contains steel. If it sticks to a magnet, it's not
permitted. (Why - Bullets that contain steel are harder than those that are not and can damage equipment - even if it is armor plated.
- We are a BRASS ONLY RANGE! (Why - help keep our staff safe! It reduces brass sorting which not only takes a lot of time but more importantly, subjects them to harmful lead dust. Being a BRASS ONLY RANGE helps keeps our staff safe.
- Non-Factory Reloads are not permitted unless
authorized by management. Once approved, you may only shoot ammunition
that YOU reload using the process and procedures you provided to TGC
Management when you sought approval. You may not shoot someone elses
reloads. Reloading is a very exact science and can be dangerous to
yourself and other guest.
- You MUST use ammunition purchased from Texas Gun
Club when shooting, renting or using TGC owned firearms.
Approved Ammunition -We are a BRASS ONLY RANGE. - Any brass cased, non-steel core ammunition
that is approved by the Sporting Arms and Ammunitions Manufacturer's
Institute (SAAMI).
- Factory reloaded ammuniton is
permitted so long as it meets other conditions. (If it sticks to a
magnate, it is not approved)
- You must purchase ammunition from Texas Gun
Club when renting or using our firearms.
- Hollow Point Ammunition is permitted so long as
it meets other restrictions.
- Shotgun ammunition is permitted
(.00 Buck or Slugs only)
Holster Work,
Advanced Skills & Tactical Training - Shooting after presentation from the holster
is permitted only by those who are certified by Texas Gun Club management.
(A $10 Fee applies to non-members for time to complete certification.
Completion of Handgun 201 automatically certifies students for holster
practice (if qualified by instructor).
- Only approved holsters are permitted. See a
staff member for details.
- External, Outside the Waistband Holsters
Only.
- Strong-side belt or Thigh holsters Only.
- Concealed Carry holsters are NOT permitted.
- Cross draw Holsters are NOT permitted.
- Shoulder Holsters are not permitted.
Malfunctions - If you experience a firearm or ammunition
malfunction that you cannot resolve, place the firearm on the bench and
see assistance from our range safety team.
- All negligent discharges must be reported
immediately.
Age Restrictions - You must be twenty-one (21) years of age to
rent a firearm or a shooting lane by yourself.
- Active Duty Military Members at least 18 years
of age may rent a lane without another responsible adult being present.
(Must show Active Duty ID)
- Any responsible adult may accompany a person
who is at least twelve (12) years of age and less than twenty-one (21)
years of age.
- Minors who are at least seven (7) and not yet
twelve (12) years of age must be accompanied by their own parent or legal
guardian to be allowed on the live-fire range.
- Minors who are less than seven (7) years of
age are not allowed on a live-fire range.
Damage, Theft and
Vandalism Prevention - We recommend going home after your visit to
the range. Vary your routes and pay attention to your surroundings.
- Never leave firearms in your vehicle
unsecured. Thieves often watch parking lots of high-value activities
such as banks, gun stores, etc. and follow guest)
- You are financially responsible for any damage
caused by you, your child or your guest. This includes damage, whether
intentional or accidental, to displays, lights, equipment, target systems,
or any other property at Texas Gun Club.
- If it is determined that the damage was
intentional, you may be subject to suspension, eviction and/or civil or
criminal prosecution.
