Reno Guns & Range - Range Safety Rules and Operating Procedures

  1. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DENY SERVICE TO ANYONE, AT ANY TIME, FOR ANY REASON.
  2. All Shooters are expected to know, adhere to, and help enforce range rules. If you observe a violation of the range rules, please bring it to the attention of any staff member and we will take corrective action. All Range Safety Rules MUST be complied with unless you receive express permission to deviate by RGR staff.

  3. ALL RGR EMPLOYEES HAVE UNQUESTIONABLE AUTHORITY REGARDING THE OPERATIONS AND RULES OF THE RANGE AND THE SHOOTING FACILITY.  If you disagree with a command or decision, exit the range and request a supervisor to review.

  4. NO STEEL JACKET, STEEL CORE, TRACER, ARMOR PIERCING, OR INCENDIARY BULLETS ALLOWED. NO NON-FACTORY RELOADS/HANDLOADS. NO MUZZLE-LOADED FIREARMS. SHOTGUN IS LIMITED TO 00 BUCKSHOT AND SLUGS.

  5. All Federal, State and Local firearm laws must be obeyed.

  6. Everyone must be informed of, and follow, Reno Guns & Range, Public Range Rules.

    ALWAYS Keep the Gun Pointed in a Safe Direction.
    ALWAYS Keep your Finger OFF the Trigger Until Ready to Shoot.
    ALWAYS Keep the Gun Unloaded Until Ready to Shoot.
    Know your Target and What is Beyond.
    Be Sure the Gun is Safe to Operate.
    Know How to Use the Gun Safely.
    Use Only The Correct Ammunition for your Gun.
    Wear Ear and Eye Protection.

    Never Use Alcohol or Drugs Before or While you are Shooting.

  7. NO food or beverages are allowed into the live fire ranges.

  8. Chewing tobacco, snuff, smoking, any other tobacco products, or
    E-Cigarettes are strictly prohibited from use in the facility.

  9. Person(s) suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicating substance, will not be allowed in the range. Prescription drugs are also prohibited. Persons smelling of alcohol or appearing intoxicated or impaired will be required to leave the facility.

  10. RSOs, RANGE STAFF, AND RGR Employees have the right to inspect all firearms, ammunition, and equipment.

  11. All firearms entering or leaving the range must be UNLOADED & IN A CASE, unless holstered. No uncased or unholstered firearms may enter or leave the RGR facility.

  12. Range Safety Officer(s) (RSO’s) on duty are in direct charge of the range and all participants at all times. The RSO may immediately ban from the range any person for inappropriate behavior including, handling a firearm in an unsafe or careless manner. The RSO may also void memberships should such conduct warrant it.

  14. In case of Emergency and/or power outage, treat the situation as if a STOP command has been given and await further instruction.

  15. If you intend to do bodily harm to yourself or others you are not permitted on the range.

  16. We highly recommend you wash your hands and face with cold water immediately after shooting your firearm. Lead wipes are available. Sinks are located in the restrooms for your use.

  17. If you sustain an injury, do not treat it in the range. Ask for assistance, cover the injury, and leave the shooting range (if possible) to treat the injury. If you do sustain an injury, whether major or minor, inform the RGR staff.

  18. Any person with a medical disorder or a disability which may pose a hazard or potential hazard, (including but not limited to Parkinson’s, epilepsy, hearing impairment, etc.) must notify the RSO prior to entering the range.

  19. Pregnancy - Health officials advise that pregnant women limit their exposure to Lead. While RGR will not prohibit pregnant shooters, we take no responsibility, nor liability for resulting injuries or complications. Please consult your physician.

  20. Do Not handle Firearms unless on the firing line, or directly accompanied by RGR staff. Do not handle your firearms anywhere else, including (but not limited to) the sales floor, classroom, special events room, digital simulator room, reality based training room or bathrooms.

  21. Do not open the doors to or from the range if the red Unavailable Do Not Enter sign is showing. Eye and ear protection must be worn AT ALL TIMES. Place hearing protection on BEFORE entering the first door to the range. If you do not have eye/ear protection, it may be purchased or rented.

  22. Only RGR provided ammunition is to be used in rental firearms. Ammunition purchase is required each day a firearm is rented. 

  23. Proper dress is required.

  24. Use only the correct ammunition for your firearm. It is your responsibility to be sure your firearm is safe to operate and to know how to use and operate it safely. If you have a question, or feel unsafe or unsure AT ANY TIME, ask for the assistance of a RSO.

  25. Drawing from a holster and firing is allowed upon approved by an RSO.  DRAWING FROM CONCEALMENT IS NOT ALLOWED.

  26. No shooting at objects on the floor, walls, or ceiling.

  27. Always keep firearms pointed downrange at all times and NEVER HIGHER THAN THE TARGET.

  28. Un-aimed or uncontrolled fire is strictly prohibited. All shots must be fired at approved targets. You are financially responsible for any damage that you cause to the facility. Firing a shot that results in damage to any range equipment may result in a “repair fine” and/or removal from the range.

  29. Shoot only at YOUR OWN TARGET – NO CROSS-LANE FIRING

  30. TARGETS – All shooters must use RGR approved targets

  31. SLIDE-FIRE STOCKS are allowed at the discretion of a RSO and a showing of proficiency.

  32. Two people maximum allowed per lane. Only one person may fire from a shooting booth at a time. The other party may stand behind and act as a non-professional “coach.” No Professional Outside Instruction without management approval.

  33. Do not exchange firearms with another booth; switch shooters, not firearms.

  34. Firearms, Magazines, and Ammunition may only be handled in shooting booths.  Magazines may be filled at back wall if NO Firearms are present.

  35. DO NOT BRING A MALFUNCTIONING FIREARM OFF THE RANGE. If there is a problem, lay the firearm on the bench, with the muzzle pointed down range, and notify the staff by raising your non-gun hand to request assistance.

  36. DO NOT cross the firing line or proceed in front of the barriers, unless on the tactical bay AND as directed by the instructor.

  37. Brass that falls to the ground may NOT be retrieved at any time.  Reno Guns & Range, RSO’s will push brass forward or remove as needed.

  38. Be courteous and aware of other shooters around you on the range

  39. FIREARMS MAY ONLY BE HANDLED IN DESIGNATED SHOOTING AREAS OR WHEN ASSISTED BY RGR STAFF. No handling of firearms outside the range is allowed, unless assisted by RGR staff.

  40. MINORS (under the age of 18,) must be accompanied by their parent, legal guardian, or designated adult.

  41. Changes may be made periodically to the Range Safety Rules and other RGR procedures. It is the shooter/member’s responsibility to review the posted Rules for any changes and abide by any such changes.

  42. Any equipment or other personal items in/on a shooting lane left unattended are at the owner’s risk. RGR is not responsible for lost or stolen items

  43. Please fold discarded targets flat prior to disposing in trash cans.

  44. Reno Guns & Range may caputure audio and video of your experience via survellance systems and other devices.

  45. Range Courtesy Rule - If all public lanes are occupied, range use may be limited to 1 hour. Participants may get back in line to utilize the facility again.

 

ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE, & INDEMNITY AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT")

WARNING: THIS AGREEMENT WILL AFFECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS. READ IT CAREFULLY!

I hereby acknowledge that I have voluntarily applied to enter on to and to engage in or to observe shooting and other activities at the range operated by Reno Guns, Inc dba Reno Guns & Range located at 2325 Market St, Reno , NV 89502 (the "RANGE"). I further acknowledge and understand that "shooting and other activities" includes any and all activities of any kind whatsoever in which I engage or observe while at the Range inclduing the rental of firearms for on-premises use.

1. I certify that I an not a 'prohibited possessor' under state or federal law.

2. I have not been convicted of a felony offense or found guilty or adjudicated delinquent as a
juvenile 14 years of age or older at the time of the offense of a delinquent act which would have
been a felony if committed by an adult. Exceptions apply for those whose rights have been restored.

3. I am not subject to a court order restraining me from harassing, stalking, or threatening my
child or an intimate partner, or a child of such partner nor am I subject to a protective order.

4. I have not been acquitted by reason of insanity and prohibited from purchasing, possessing or
transporting a firearm pursuant to §18.2-308.1:1 or any substantially similar law of any other
jurisdiction, been adjudicated legally incompetent, mentally incapacitated or adjudicated an
incapacitated person and prohibited from purchasing a firearm pursuant to § 18.2-308.1:2 or any
substantially similar law of any other jurisdiction, or been involuntarily admitted to an inpatient
facility or involuntarily ordered to outpatient mental health treatment and prohibited from
purchasing a firearm pursuant to § 18.2-308.1:3 or any substantially similar law of any other
jurisdiction. Exceptions apply for those whose rights have been restored.

ACKNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTAND THAT SHOOTING ACTIVITIES ARE
INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS

and involve both known and unanticipated risks which could result in damage or destruction of
property and physical or emotional injury, including paralysis or death, of myself or of other
persons. The risks include, but are not limited to: being shot by or shooting myself or others; partial
or total loss of eyesight or hearing; inhalation or other harmful contact with lead or other
contaminants; and being struck by flying or falling objects. I understand that such risks cannot be
eliminated without compromising the essential qualities of shooting activities. I further attest to the
following:

SHOOTING AND OTHER ACTIVITIES AT THE RANGE, AS A MEMBER OR AS A GUEST, I
EXPRESSLY AGREE TO ACCEPT AND ASSUME ANY AND ALL RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH
SUCH ENTRY, USE, OR OTHER ACTIVITIES.

RELEASE AND FOREVER DISCHARGE AND AGREE NOT TO SUE THE RANGE (I understand
that “RANGE” includes any and all officers, directors, attorneys, agents, employees, contractors,
volunteers, guests and affiliated individuals or organizations of the RANGE) from and against any
and all claims, demands, damages, expenses, causes of action, attachments of property, or liability
of any kind whatsoever, that I, my next of kin, heirs, guardians, representatives or assigns may have
for property damage, personal injury or death resulting from me entering on to the RANGE, using
RANGE facilities or equipment, or engaging in or observing shooting and other activities at the
RANGE, even if such claims, demands, damages, expenses, causes of action, attachments of
property, or liability result partially or wholly from any act or acts, even any negligent act or
omission to act, including negligent or omitted first-aid or rescue operations or procedures, by the
RANGE.

AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the RANGE from and against any and all
claims, demands, damages, expenses, causes of action, attachments of property, or liability of any
kind whatsoever, including reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs that I, my next of kin, heirs,
guardians, representatives or assigns, my Guests, or anyone else, may have for property damage,
personal injury or death, whether suffered by me, by my Guests, or by anyone else, resulting from
me or my Guests entering on to the RANGE, using RANGE facilities or equipment, or engaging in or
observing shooting and other activities at the RANGE, even if such claims, demands, damages,
expenses, causes of action, attachments of property, or liability result partially or wholly from any
act or acts, even any negligent act or omission to act, including negligent or omitted first-aid or
rescue operations or procedures, by the RANGE.

Governing Law

This Agreement shall be interpreted and enforced under the laws of the State of Nevada,
and the venue for any action or proceeding shall be the State of Nevada.
Interpretive Intent and Severability

This Agreement is intended to be interpreted as broadly and inclusively as permitted by law, and if
any provision or portion is held to be invalid, void or otherwise unenforceable, the remaining
provisions or portion shall continue and remain in full legal force and effect.

Continuing Force and Effect

This Agreement, and any signed written amendments or modifications to it, shall remain in full
force and effect from the date of execution and ever after and shall be applicable to each and every
occasion that I enter on to the RANGE, use RANGE facilities or equipment, or engage in or observe
shooting and other activities at the RANGE.

Validity of Electronically Stored Documents

All parties acknowledge that an electronically stored copy of this executed agreement shall be
considered an original for all purposes and is intended to have the same effect as the physical copy
first signed by the parties.

I have carefully read this “Assumption of Risk, Release, & Indemnity Agreement” and fully know its
contents. I acknowledge that no other inducement, assurance or guarantee has been made to me in
consideration of my signing this Agreement, which I sign voluntarily and of my own free will. I
further acknowledge and agree that this Agreement may be amended or modified only by a written
agreement and signed by me and by an authorized agent of the RANGE.

I UNDERSTAND THAT BY MY SIGNATURE I AM GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS, THAT
I UNDERSTAND SHOOTING ACTIVITIES ARE INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS, THAT I FULLY
APPRECIATE THE NATURE AND EXTENT OF THE RISKS, THAT I AM VOLUNTARILY
INCURRING THE RISKS, THAT I AM AGREEING TO INDEMNIFY THE RANGE FOR ALL OF
MY ACTIONS AND THEIR DIRECT AND INDIRECT CONSEQUENCES, THAT I AM
AGREEING NOT TO SUE THE RANGE, AND AM RELEASING AND HOLDING HARMLESS
THE RANGE OF ALL LIABILITY.
