Please read the following carefully. This orientation is extremely important for your understanding and enjoyment of the Lounge. Ask the bartender if you have any questions or concerns about any of the following.
Check each box to indicate that you understand each section of the rules below; breaking any agreement in this document will lead to your immediate ejection from the Lounge.
Understanding Our Service
The Service that BBGL provides is considered that of a bar and Console Arcade. This means that we have games available for Visitors to play and equipment (such as consoles) to be used by Visitors.
For the safety and considerations of BBGL visitors, children under 6 may not use BBGL service. All visitors must read and abide by the rules of the lounge.
To use BBGL Service during All ages hours, it is $6 an hour. Alternatively, for $20, you may purchase a Day Pass, which you allows you access to Service during All Ages Hours. Purchase of a Day Pass will carry over to Bar Hours with more limited services, which means there is no expectation of game changes. There is also an option for a monthly membership, which includes all these services, in addition to discounts, guest passes, and priority reservations. For information about a monthly membership, please contact BBGL.
Bar Hours start promptly at 7pm (as of 11/12/18) and all people under 18 years old must be gone by that time. At that time, you may participate in "drink to play" where the purchase of adult beverages gains access to the games that are out. If you opt out of 'drink to play,' gaming is still $6 an hour.
Use of Lounge
To properly use the lounge, there are things to remember.
It is important to remember that, while there are couches, rugs, and coffee tables, this is not a home living room. There will, at times, be messes left by other Visitors, such as tangled cords from controllers that are strewn about the floor. It is not BBGL's responsibility to make sure each person watches where they step when in these areas that may have been left this way without our knowledge. This is because these obstacles are not structural, but left behind by previous Visitors. If you have a safety concern, consult the bartender. This also means that it is never okay to climb on couches, or to sit on tables or other non-seating furniture.
It is prohibited to alter settings or charge anything to the BBGL accounts. This includes but is not limited to Xbox Live accounts, Playstation accounts, and any other accounts. Failure to comply with this policy will result in you being charged and/or being banned from the Lounge permanently.
"Move your feet, lose your seat" is a big part of BBGL. If you move away from a setup, other than a setup you have reserved in advance, that setup is considered available and may be used by another Visitor.
How to get a game change
At BBGL, you may have access to our equipment and equipment library. This may include controllers, televisions, and games. You are allowed up to 3 game changes in one hour, at the bartender's discretion, in addition to unlimited access to the available equipment that is set up around the room constantly.
The Bartender is required to change games for you each time; none of BBGL's equipment is downloaded to the equipment. It is never allowed to touch games, discs, or cartridges at BBGL. This means that you must ask one of our bartenders to help you each time.
Touching any lounge equipment is grounds for immediate ejection!
Things described as in our library may at times be inoperable, unsusable, or unavailable. Visitors should not have the expectation that everything will be available at every time.
If you are a Minor Visitor or accompanying a Minor Visitor
Best Buds Gaming Lounge's primary function is as a bar. This means that, while children are welcome during All Ages hours, it is important that each individual Visitor displays the same level of respect and ettiquette that one would at any bar or restaurant.
It is important that the Minor Visitors of BBGL do not interfere with an adult Visitor's enjoyment of the Lounge. Minor Visitor's and/or their guardians whom do not treat the Lounge in accordance with this document and with proper etiquette will be asked to leave.
Please note that bartenders are not expected to help children read the menu, make decisions, or pick games. Please do not ask unreasonable things of our bartenders, such as figuring out what your child wants. Part of accompanying a minor is helping that child communicate with the bartender. If we cannot understand what a child visitor asks of us, we will be forced to move on to the next task.
Seating and Etiquette
While the Lounge is restaurant and bar, we are also a Console Arcade. This means that, at most times, every table in the room is occupied with a Console, or "Set Up." Seating at BBGL is first come, first serve. There are over 32 setups (setups means Video Gaming Station) in the room, and those are first come first serve as well.
If you are coming with a group of more than 4, or a group that needs to stay together, it is strongly recommended that you make a reservation. This is not a location where it is easy to handle groups of 8 or more without at least one days notice. This is why there is a gratuity in place. Respecting seating etiquette and making reservations are important to everyone's experience
All visitors in the bar must adhere to Best Buds Gaming Lounge rules. This includes NO YELLING. Visitors that do not obey these rules can and will be kicked out without warning or refund. The way this is handled is up to the owners and bartender discretion. If you are bringing in minors, we encourage having a discussion with them about correct restaurant and bar ettiquette. Screaming will NOT be tolerated.
Laying on couches is strictly prohibited. Couches are for use as gaming setups -- if you are not gaming, please be seated in the dining area so as not to prevent other visitors from using equipment as intended. You will be asked to leave if you do not use seating properly.
Visitors are expected to wear appropriate footwear and clothing on to be in Best Buds Gaming Lounge. Your shoes must stay on at all times, and you must always by fully clothed. You will be asked to leave immediately if these rules are not followed.
For New Gamers
BBGL welcomes gamers of all skill level! We have thousands of options to choose from, from Beginner-level games to extremely difficult games. We are happy to show you what we know if you need help while playing something, but our bartenders do not know how to play each of our 2,000+ games. We will be happy to set you up with something we know to be simple and straightforward, or something we can help you with quickly, but there should be NO expectation that the bartender of BBGL will have time or be able to teach you how to play a game.
