Please read and agree to the following terms and conditions before you complete your course registration.


Anyone booking or participating in training at Optimum Academy (Optimum, Optimum RAS, Optimum Rope Access Solutions, Inc.) agrees to the following:

Payment terms:

Full payment for the course must be received upon registration. Booking is only confirmed once payment has been received unless an agreement with Optimum Academy has been approved. Optimum accepts payments by credit card, check, or wire/money transfer.

Bulk Pricing:

Any discount applied for Optimums Bulk Pricing is only available for invoices paid within 15 days. For invoices extending beyond 30 days, discounts will be removed.

Cancellations:

Optimum reserves the right to impose the following penalties: 100% for cancellations made within 5 working days of training course start time, 50% for those made between 6 – 10 working days, and 25% for those made between 11-20 working days.

Optimum is flexible in considering changes to the training format but reserves the right to refuse all modifications to the training program once a training slot has been confirmed.

Changes to the student roster on the booking form at least 5 days prior to the scheduled training will result in additional fees of $175 per student.

A $150 fee will be required for any cancellation after payment has already been processed.

Attendance Policy:

Students are to arrive and be ready to participate in class at the scheduled time each day. If a student is more than 30 minutes late on any given day of class, they will not be admitted to class.

Students are expected to return from each break, including lunch break, at the time designated by the instructor. A student must complete a cumulative 60 minutes of training throughout the course to be allowed to continue.

Instructors will not wait for students to begin or resume classes. Please note that any amount of time a student misses is critical to their training. Optimum is dedicated to training our students for success and at the highest standard of safety. Therefore, we have implemented this attendance policy to benefit all students and their companies.

Additional conditions:

As required under Global Wind Organization (GWO) Approved BST Training Standard, Section 5.7 Physical Prerequisites & 5.8 Physical Demands. All delegates must be able to provide evidence of their capability and medical fitness to undergo the training.

Training providers must demonstrate the existence of suitable systems to make explicit reference to the capability and medical fitness of the delegate to attend the training.

1) At the time of registration (booking) of the delegate into the course. (Suitable evidence shall include a medical certificate accepted by the delegates employing organization or a declaration by the employer stating acceptance of the employee's medical fitness to attend the training.

2) At the start of training, prior to any practical exercises being conducted. (Suitable evidence is the delegate's self-declaration within signing the course registration form on the day of training.)

Students must confirm they are medically fit and aware of user weight limitations outlined under their OHS Act (Federal/State or Provincial), are within the defined limitations specified, and will be required to sign a waiver to this effect before commencing training. (Unless other local standards apply, Optimum Academy operates under Federal OSHA guidelines that a worker's weight, including PFPE and tools, must be between 130-310 lbs.)

Optimum Academy, a division of Optimum Rope Access Solutions, Inc., reserves the right to suspend training at any time should the student's medical condition be questioned.

Per the course synopsis, an equipment list specific to a training program is available upon request.

Equipment:

All personal equipment will be inspected.

Students are required to wear suitable clothing and work boots (with a heel if climbing). Students wishing to use their own PPE during training must bring the inspection and certification history.

Optimum supplies PFPE equipment for students. Students wishing to use their own PFPE during training must bring the inspection and certification history.

Issuing of Certifications:

Students who successfully pass the course and evaluation will be issued certificates within 5 days of completing the course.

GWO Certificates will be available digitally using the email associated with the WINDA ID registration. Optimum Certifications will be sent to the contact person designated during the booking process. This person will be responsible for distributing certificates to individual students should the company decide to do so.

Students that do not pass or need remediation will be informed immediately, and all options will be discussed with the student and their supervisor, as appropriate.
