As noted in our Catalog and Student Handbook, it is the policy of Wyoming Catholic College (WCC) that students will have supervised access to all their educational records. Access to the student files is permitted to faculty members or administrative officials who demonstrate legitimate cause to the Registrar. Parents and legal guardians have the same access if they claim you as a dependent for tax purposes. Such educational records include, but are not limited to, information regarding your grades, account, financial aid, work study, academic progress, health, and disciplinary actions. Moreover, WCC will disclose certain portions of your educational records or identifiable information in circumstances where the disclosure (1) is reasonably necessary to protect your health or safety or that of others, (2) is connected with your application for, or receipt of, financial aid and is necessary to determine the eligibility, amount, or conditions of such aid, or is necessary for enforcing the terms and conditions of your Payment Plan and Promissory Note, (3) is required by school officials with legitimate interests, including officials of other schools you are seeking or intending to enroll in, (4) is limited to “directory information,” unless you request in writing the exclusion of this information. The College considers the following to be directory information: name; permanent and campus address; phone listings; campus e-mail address; country of origin; student photo; prior school(s) of attendance; enrollment status; class year; dates of attendance; degree received and date when received, participation in officially recognized activities; jobs held on campus and dates thereof. The College does keep an active list of alumni that includes their name, year of graduation, thesis title, and information about your employment or schools attended since your graduation from WCC. This list may be distributed from time to time to College benefactors or other interested persons. If you do not wish to be included on this list, you may express this desire in writing to the External Affairs office. Such requests must be in writing and signed by the student; email or verbal requests will not be honored. If your parents are assisting you financially with the cost of attending WCC, they will receive a copy of your grade report at the end of each semester. Parents will also receive a copy of any disciplinary letters or other communications from the College. If you are an independent student that is paying their own costs of attendance, grade reports and disciplinary letters will not be sent to parents unless a request is received by the Registrar to do so. We wish you to acknowledge your understanding of WCC’s aforementioned policies by signing this form.
