Range Agreement and Release of Liability Form

I hereby acknowledge that I have voluntarily applied to participate in shooting and/or other activities at 23121 Coltrane Avenue, Newhall, CA 91321 (“the Premises”) sponsored, operated, and/or provided by Oak Tree Gun Club, LLC and/or California Gun Girls, LLC. I acknowledge that these shooting and/or other activities sponsored by the Oak Tree Gun Club, LLC / California Gun Girls, LLC are for the purpose of promoting shooting proficiency and fellowship among shooting clubs and groups including, but not limited to the NRA (National Rifle Association), NSSF, NSCA, NSSA, ATA, TAT, SASS, IPSC, IDPA, together with the general public by providing practice ranges at which they can congregate and practice the respective disciplines, thereby increasing acceptance and membership in organized shooting. I acknowledge that shooting activities not only include shooting time, but any activity whatsoever that I engage in while at the Premises. This includes resting or travelling between shotgun, pistol, rifle or archery ranges, shade covers/picnic/parking areas, retail facilities, and restaurant.

Release of Liability: As lawful consideration for having been permitted by Oak Tree Gun Club, LLC and/or California Gun Girls, LLC, or associated individuals, to participate in shooting activities and/or other activities at the Premises, including use of any of the facilities on the Premises, I HEREBY AGREE THAT I, my heirs, next-of-kin, distributees, guardians, legal representatives, administrators, executors, assigns, or anyone acting on my behalf or through me, WILL NOT SUE, make claim against, attach property of, or prosecute Oak Tree Gun Club, LLC, California Gun Girls, LLC, and/or any of their owners, members, officers, directors, partners, employees, agents, sponsors, contractors, instructors, volunteers, affiliated organizations, or anyone acting by and through them, FOR INJURY OR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER ACTS, whosoever caused, by Oak Tree Gun Club, LLC, California Gun Girls, LLC, and/or any of their owners, members, officers, directors, partners, employees, agents, sponsors, contractors, instructors, volunteers, affiliated organizations, or anyone acting by and through them, AS A RESULT OF MY PARTICIPATION IN SHOOTING ACTIVITIES OR ANY OTHER ACTIVITY WHILE ON THE PREMISES. In addition, I HEREBY KNOWINGLY AND INTENTIONALLY WAIVE, DISCHARGE, RELEASE, AND HOLD HARMLESS Oak Tree Gun Club, LLC, California Gun Girls, LLC, and/or any their owners, members, officers, directors, partners, employees, agents, sponsors, contractors, instructors, volunteers, affiliated organizations, or anyone acting by and through them, from any and all claims, demands, actions, losses, or damages that I, my heirs, next-of-kin, distributees, guardians, legal representatives, administrators, executors, assigns, or anyone acting on my behalf or through me now have, or may hereafter have, FOR INJURY OR DAMAGE RESULTING FROM MY PARTICIPATION IN SHOOTING ACTIVITIES OR ANY OTHER ACTIVITIES AT THE PREMISES.


Assumption of Risk: I am aware, understand, and agree that all shooting sports and related activities are inherently dangerous activities and involves known and/or unanticipated risks, hazards, and dangers of serious injury, including but not limited to permanent disability, paralysis, and death, which cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injuries. Nevertheless, with knowledge of the potential risks involved, I HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT BY VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATING IN SHOOTING ACTIVITIES ON THE PREMISES, I KNOWINGLY AND EXPRESSLY ASSUME ANY AND ALL RISKS OF INJURY AND/OR DEATH.


Compliance with Rules: I have read the Rules and Conditions listed below and understand that I am obligated to comply with such rules and conditions at all times while on the Premises.

  • I agree that I will wear ear and eye protection at all times while I am participating in any shooting venue on the Premises. I will personally ensure and guarantee that anyone with me will also wear ear and eye protection. I will hold Oak Tree Gun Club, LLC and/or California Gun Girls, LLC, harmless for any injury that may result from failure to abide by this rule.

  • I agree to treat any and all guns on the Premises as being loaded. I will never point the muzzle of any gun, at any time, whether loaded or not, at myself or in the direction of another human being.

  • I will not draw a loaded gun from a holster or from any other location on my body, while engaged in shooting activities at the Premises.

  • I am aware that shooting at steel targets, frames, or other hard surfaces could potentially result in ricochets. I will not intentionally shoot at the ground, rocks, plant, animal life, or any object other than a target located down range. I am voluntarily accepting all risk of injury or damages due to ricochets.

  • I am aware that ammunition, both factory and reloaded, are subject to defects. I release Oak Tree Gun Club, LLC and/or California Gun Girls, LLC, from any responsibility for damage to my firearm, or any injury or death resulting from the use of defective ammunition purchased from Oak Tree Gun Club, LLC and/or California Gun Girls, LLC.

  • I will not consume, use, or take any substance, marijuana, alcohol, or medication, which may affect my mental capacity or my ability to safely handle a firearm and to follow all safety rules, prior to or while engaging in shooting activities at the Premises. I understand that if I am suspected of being under the influence of any substance, whether legal or not, prior to or while engaging in shooting activities, I will be asked to leave the Premises.

  • I understand if I am under the age of 21, a parent or legal guardian must accompany me during my visit, agree and sign this form before I can engage in Pistol, Rifle or Shotgun shooting activities at the Premises. I understand that if I am under the age of 18, I must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian before I can engage in Archery shooting activities.

  • I understand that I must be at least 21 years of age to shoot rental/demo firearms unless I am accompanied by a parent of legal guardian.

  • I understand that I must be at least 21 years of age to purchase ammunition.

  • I understand that if I am between the age of 18 and 20, I may engage in shotgun or rifle shooting activities or rent shotguns or rifles if I possess A VALID HUNTING LICENSE, AM ACTIVE/RESERVE/HONORABLY DISCHARGED FROM THE ARMED FORCES, OR ACTIVE DUTY WITH A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. Identification and proof of exemption must be provided.

  • I understand that there may be additional safety rules, written and oral, provided by Oak Tree Gun Club, LLC and/or California Gun Girls, LLC, and/or posted at the Premises. I agree to follow all safety rules while engaging in shooting activities and to follow all instructions and commands of Range Safety Officers and other employees at the Premises.

  • I understand that failure to follow the safety rules will result in refusal of service and/or being asked to leave the Premises, including revocation of any membership privilege.

  • I understand and agree that this Range Agreement and Release of Liability Form shall apply to all visits by me and/or the minor participants listed below until they are 21 years old. In the event I am required to sign a new Range Agreement and Release of Liability Form, I understand that this Range Agreement and Release of Liability Form shall remain effective and shall apply to all visits to the Premises up to the execution date of the new Range Agreement and Release of Liability Form.

I AM AWARE THAT THIS RANGE AGREEMENT AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY FORM AFFECTS MY LEGAL RIGHTS. I AM SIGNING THIS RANGE AGREEMENT AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY FORM VOLUNTARILY AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ITS TERMS.

the authority to execute this Range Agreement and Release of Liability Form on behalf of each and every minor identified above, and executes this Range Agreement and Release of Liability Form on their behalf, with full knowledge that each and every minor and Participating Parent or Legal Guardian shall be subject to and bound to all the terms of this Range Agreement and Release of Liability Form, as set forth above. THE PARTICIPATING PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN FURTHER AGREES TO INDEMNIFY, DEFEND, AND HOLD HARMLESS OAK TREE GUN CLUB, LLC AND/OR CALIFORNIA GUN GIRLS, LLC, FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS THAT ARE BROUGHT BY OR ON BEHALF OF ANY MINOR IDENTIFIED ABOVE. By signing below, Participating Parent or Legal Guardian acknowledges they are signing on their own behalf for the Participating Parent/Legal Guardian’s own participation in shooting activities and other activities at the Premises and agrees to be subject to and bound by all the terms of this Range Agreement and Release of Liability, as set forth above.
