If moving shooting positions, UNLOAD AND RECASE your firearm before doing so. 5:Your firearm should ALWAYS BE POINTING DOWNRANGE, never at yourself or any other person. Do not point it up, down, left, or right. While uncasing/casing your firearm orient the firearm case so that the firearm is already pointing downrange prior to removing it from the case. If a single case contains multiple firearms then rotate the case as many times as necessary so that each firearm is facing downrange prior to removing it from the case. Exception: rental guns are to be carried from Rifle House to shooting position with barrel up and a safety flag in its action. GENERAL RANGE RULES: 6:Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. Firearms may be carried barrel up with a safety flag if there is no case, or downrange ONLY when at shooting position. 7:Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. A Negligent Discharge (ND) may be grounds for removal from the facility. 8:Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use. DO NOT LOAD your firearm until you are at a shooting position. TREAT EVERY FIREARM AS IF IT WERE LOADED. Unload your gun immediately if it will be unattended, even for a second. Never just engage the safety on a loaded firearm. 9:Target backers are placed downrange ONLY DURING CEASEFIRES. Shoot only at your own target(s) or steel. Do not shoot at rocks, trees, birds, animals, target stands, or at any other OTGC property. DO NOT SHOOT at anything other than paper, steel, or other RSO approved targets. 10:Pelletized black powder firearms are allowed. Fully-automatic firearms are not permitted unless proper documentation of legal ownership is provided. Steel-core, incendiary, bi-metal, and armor piercing ammo are prohibited. Buckshot and slug for shotguns only, patterning with birdshot upon RSO approval only. We reserve the right to inspect and handle any and all ammunition and/or hand-loads, any and all firearms, and targets and to deny their use. No firearm assembly or disassembly behind the firing line. Do not remove jammed firearms from the firing line. Leave it on the firing line pointing downrange and ask the RSO for assistance in clearing your jam. NO BRASS OR LEAD SCAVENGING. You may police your own brass only. CEASEFIRE PROCEDURES: 11:“Progressive Ceasefire” means you may either fire the existing ammo in the firearm or unload your firearm, open all actions, remove all magazines, and step back from the firing line to behind the red line. DO NOT GO FORWARD UNTIL THE LINE HAS BEEN INSPECTED AND THE SECOND COMMAND THAT “THE LINE IS COLD AND ON A CEASEFIRE” HAS BEEN GIVEN. NO FIREARM OR AMMO HANDLING DURING ANY CEASEFIRE. DO NOT APPROACH OR HANDLE ANYTHING ON THE SHOOTING BENCHES. IF YOU NEED SOMETHING SPEAK WITH THE RSO. Once on the ceasefire you may go forward of the shooting line at either side or the center pass through, but do not climb over or pass between the shooting benches. Wait for “Eyes and Ears” and “Range is Hot” commands before returning to the firing line and resume shooting. 12:“CEASEFIRE” IS AN IMMEDIATE STOP TO ANY AND ALL SHOOTING AND FIREARM HANDLING. Upon the ceasefire command being given immediately place your firearm down on the shooting bench and step back behind the red line. Do not attempt to clear, empty, or case your firearm. If your firearm is placed on a shooting bench while still loaded as a result of an immediate ceasefire, please inform the RSO and await further instruction. LEAVING THE RANGE: 13:TAKE YOUR CASE TO YOUR FIREARM ON THE FIRING LINE. NEVER TAKE AN UNCASED FIREARM FROM THE LINE.
