OAK TREE GUN CLUB
PISTOL RANGE PROCEDURES AND SAFETY RULES

Rules for Safe Handling of a Firearm at Oak Tree Gun Club LLC / California Gun Girls, LLC

Always treat the firearm as if it is loaded. YOU are the primary safety of any firearm!

You will always point the firearm downrange - towards the targets. You will not endanger yourself or those around you by pointing the firearm up, down, left or right at any time.

Your trigger finger will be outside the trigger guard until you are ready to fire. You will only place your finger inside the trigger guard when you are ready to fire the gun.

You will not move or change positions with a firearm in your hand. If you move with a firearm to a different position, unload the firearm, place it in a container and move the container. DO NOT handle a firearm anywhere other than the firing line.

Shoot only at targets. Do not shoot at plant and animal life, the ground, rocks, target stands, sticks or other objects located down range.

Pistol Range Rules

  1. All firearms brought into the Pro-Shop and on the ranges must be unloaded with the actions open.
  2. You will not bring any loaded or jammed firearms into the Pro-Shop. Leave the firearm pointed in the “down range” direction on the shooting table, and notify a Range Officer immediately. DO NOT attempt to clear a jammed firearm without assistance from a Range Officer.
  3. Eye and Ear protection must be worn BEFORE entering the range, and worn at all times on the range. This includes all non-shooting spectators.
  4. All expended ammunition casings and lead are the property of California Gun Girls, LLC / Oak Tree Gun Club, LLC.

  10. Pregnant women should utilize the shooting ranges at their own risk. It is not recommended due to loud noise and possible exposure to lead.
  11. All ammunition and firearms are subject to inspection by any Range Officer.
  12. We reserve the right to NOT allow hand loads.
  13. Turn in defective, misfire, or unused ammunition to a Range Officer for proper disposal.
  14. Do not disassemble or clean firearms on the firing line.
  15. No ammunition is allowed on the cleaning bench.
  16. Notify range personnel if you observe any violations of range rules. Report any safety violations immediately.
  17. If you do not have any experience handling firearms please notify range personnel when signing up, BEFORE going on the shooting line. A Range Officer will assist you with the safe handling and operation of your firearm.
