Member and Student Waiver

The Boston Sailing Center offers Student lessons, Student Memberships, Memberships, and the use of its facilities for social gatherings ("Offerings").

The undersigned Participant wishes to participate in one or more of Boston Sailing Center’s Offerings above referenced. The participant and his/her guests (if any) have been informed, acknowledge and understand that sailing is a potentially hazardous endeavor. Such hazards include, but are not limited to groundings, accidental jibes, falling overboard, equipment failures, variations in wind and sea conditions, water traffic, submerged obstructions and other hazards to navigation. These risks may result in serious bodily injury or even death.

The Participant and his/her guests (if any) have been informed, acknowledge and understand that by participating in the above Offerings, there is a risk of being exposed to or infected by COVID-19. These risks may result in serious illness, or even death.

In using the Boston Sailing Center equipment or facilities, or participating in sailing instruction at the Boston Sailing Center, the undersigned Participant and his/her guests recognize and accept such dangers and assume full responsibility for all such risks.

For Members and Student Members the Participant further acknowledges that he/she has received a copy of the Boston Sailing Center’s "Policies and Procedures" and/or "Student Member Policies and Procedures" document and agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of the appropriate document. A copy of both Policies and Procedures documents are maintained at all times in the Sailing Center Office. This document may change from time to time and it is the Participant’s responsibility to ensure that he/she has the most current publication which can be found in the member section of the website under the clubhouse menu or Policies and Procedures – Boston Sailing Center

The Participant, on his/her own behalf, and on behalf of his/her guests, therefore, wishing to take part in one or more of the Boston Sailing Center Offerings, agrees to, and therefore does, release the Boston Sailing Center, employees, agents, and representatives from any and all liability, loss, damage, costs, claims and/or causes of action including but not limited to all bodily injuries, potential COVID-19 exposure or infection, and property damage arising out of participation in the Boston Sailing Center offerings referred to above.

The Participant acknowledges and understands that he/she will only be required to sign this one release. When the Participant takes additional courses, or memberships, and when the Participant renews his/her membership from year to year, this waiver and release of liability will be maintained on file and will continue in full force and effect as to any and all activities engaged in by the Participant at the Boston Sailing Center.
