RecWell Adventure Program Equipment Rental Contract

 

Reservation and Late Fee Policy

Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance upon payment of rental fees. No phone reservations will be accepted. To be eligible for a refund, reservations must be canceled two days before the scheduled pick-up date. If reservations are canceled less than two days before pick-up date, no refunds will be given. No refunds will be given for equipment not picked-up. No exceptions due to inclement weather. Late equipment will be charged the daily rental rate for each day late. Equipment not returned within 10 days will be charged for replacement of the item.    


Equipment Rental Contract Release Waiver and Renter Financial Liability  

I understand that I will have the opportunity to review the equipment I rented to ensure it is in good operating condition with all necessary parts and accessories prior to leaving the Adventure Program. Once I leave the Adventure Program with the equipment, I voluntarily rent and accept it “AS IS”. I understand that there is no insurance coverage provided and that I will be held financially responsible for theft, loss, abnormal wear and tear damage, cleaning and late fees. I understand that I will be charged the full replacement cost of any equipment held 10 or more days after the scheduled return date. I understand that, except for cancellations made in accordance with the reservation refund policy, there are no refunds for equipment not picked-up or not used for any reason.

I have reviewed any provided instructions for equipment use and have had the opportunity to ask staff any questions I have regarding the use of the equipment. I understand that the University of Maryland and University Recreation & Wellness are not responsible for injuries incurred in connection with the use of equipment rented from the RecWell Adventure Program; and I am aware of and understand the safety practices required for using the equipment listed above. In consideration of being permitted to rent said equipment from the RecWell Adventure Program, I, for myself, my heirs, personal representative(s) and assigns, release and agree not to sue and to indemnify and hold harmless, the State of Maryland, the University of Maryland, University Recreation & Wellness and their officers, agents, employees, and volunteers from and against any and all claims for injury, loss or damage to person or property of myself or others in any way arising from the use, misuse and/or abuse of said equipment.


 

I CERTIFY THAT I AM 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AND THAT I HAVE READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THIS CONTRACT AND RELEASE; AND I SIGN IT VOLUNTARILY WITH FULL KNOWLEDGE IF IT’S SIGNIFICANCE.
