Terms & Conditions, Guidelines, and Text Messaging Consent – Day Use & Overnight Guests

Resort Guidelines

General Resort Rules

  • Speed Limit: The speed limit throughout the resort is 5½ MPH.
  • Photos & Media: Entry into or onto the resort and surrounding property constitutes permission and consent for resort management to use photographs, video, or likenesses of you, your relatives, or guests for any lawful purpose without compensation.
  • Pets: All pets must have current vaccinations and documentation from a licensed veterinarian. Pets must be leashed at all times and waste must be picked up immediately.

Lake & Beach Rules

  • The lake is open daylight hours only.
  • No running, diving, or excessive horseplay.
  • No alcohol, smoking, glass containers, or food permitted in the water or on the beach.
  • Fishing is catch and release only.
  • No pets allowed on the beach or in the lake.
  • Swimming is permitted in designated areas only.
  • Children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Children may never be left unattended at the beach or lake.
  • Please keep the beach clean and use designated trash and recycling receptacles.
  • Absolutely no glass on the beach.
  • No lifeguard on duty — swim at your own risk.
  • No trespassing in lake or beach areas outside designated zones.

Conduct & Behavior

  • Alcohol: Minors are strictly prohibited from possessing or consuming alcohol in accordance with state and local law.
  • Smoking: Smoking is not permitted in any resort-owned buildings, amenities, or bathhouses.
  • Behavior: Illegal, destructive, threatening, abusive, or offensive behavior is not permitted. Failure to comply with resort rules or staff direction may result in removal from the property without refund.
  • Firearms & Weapons: Firearms, air arms, paintball guns, fireworks, explosives, weapons, illegal drugs, and prohibited substances are strictly forbidden.

Liability & Hold Harmless Agreement

All guests agree to hold harmless, indemnify, and defend Oak Lake RV Resort, its owners, and management from any bodily injury, personal injury, death, or property damage sustained on resort property, including but not limited to natural causes (e.g., falling limbs or trees).

Guests further agree that Oak Lake RV Resort is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property under any circumstances. Guests assume full responsibility for the actions of all individuals in their party.

Emergency & Force Majeure

In the event of emergencies including but not limited to acts of God, fire, flood, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, disease outbreaks, pandemics, or governmental orders beyond the resort’s control, management reserves the right to close any part or all of the resort. The resort is not responsible for fire, theft, or damage to vehicles, equipment, or personal property.

Activities Waiver – Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk

Guests acknowledge that participation in resort activities (including but not limited to swimming, games, hayrides, paddleboats, kayaks, tubing, and other outdoor or water activities) involves inherent risks that may result in injury, illness, death, or property damage.

By signing this waiver, guests voluntarily assume all risks, known and unknown, and agree they will not make claims or seek compensation from Oak Lake RV Resort, its owners, employees, agents, or affiliates.

Participation in all activities is voluntary and at your own risk.

Text Messaging Terms & Conditions

Consent to Receive Text Messages

By opting in, you consent to receive recurring automated marketing and transactional text messages from Oak Lake RV Resort to the mobile number you provide. Messages may include:

  • Reservation confirmations
  • Promotional offers
  • Event updates
  • Other resort-related information

Text messaging terms may be updated at any time. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

Enforceability

If any provision of this agreement is found unenforceable, all remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
