Bike Rental Contract 

1) The renter must show a valid identification (e.g., passport) document to rent a bike. We provide high quality specialist bikes for hire. To achieve this at a reasonable cost we ask our customers to treat the equipment responsibly.

2) The Hire period commences on the day the bike(s) and equipment is collected or dispatched to you and continues until the bike(s) and equipment is returned to Icebike staff.

3) The customer will be asked his/her credit card details as a guarantee deposit for the rented equipment. At the end of the rental period, the customer accepts a charge for any missing or broken items at market prices. The rented bike and equipment may only be used by the designated customer and the members of his/her party as mentioned in the booking form.

4) When the renter receives the bike without making any observations or objections, he/she recognises that the bike is perfectly functional. The renter declares, under his/her own responsibility, that he/she is capable of using the rented bike without hazard to himself/herself or to others. In no case may the renter transfer its use to another person.

5) Use of a helmet is mandatory. No form of compensation shall be claimed from Icebike Adventures for damage caused or suffered by the renter.

The customer and his/her group must respect Icelandic traffic regulations. Any off trail riding is illegal and can result in heavy fines.

The customer is obliged to take good care of the rented equipment and to protect it from damage, loss or theft. In case of damage, loss or theft of the bike(s), components or any of its parts, Icebike Adventures will charge the customer the full cost of the missing/damaged items at market prices.

6) The renter must use and safeguard the vehicle in such a way as to avoid damage and theft both to the bicycle and to its accessories. Icebike Adventures may request payment for the damage and/or broken parts caused or suffered by the bicycle.

7) If the bike(s) is stolen, the renter must (a) immediately notify Icebike Adventures by calling +354 625 0200, (b) pay an amount ranging from €500.00 to €4,000.00 (according to the type and value of the rented bicycle), and (c) report the theft to local police. The aforesaid amount will be returned if the bicycle is found.

8) Failure to return the bike on time without giving advance notice thereof shall be considered theft and consequently reported to law enforcement authorities.

9) If the renter is also renting any devices or other items, the aforesaid terms regarding damage and theft likewise apply to any such devices or other items.

The vehicles (accessories and any rented items) must be returned during the Icebike Adventures operating hours or at a previously agreed-upon location previously by the renter and Icebike Adventures.

10) The renter’s signature below implies that the renter has read, understands, and agrees to the terms of the rental agreement as stated herein, the renter allows an automatic photo to be taken when waiver is signed.
