As Per The Circus Up Staff Policies And Procedures Manual:

 

“There should never be a situation where a single staff member is alone with a single student. The only exception would be if there is an emergency and/or the child’s health or safety are in danger.”

 

This means that to ensure the safety of Circus Up participants, there are always at least two adults with one student, OR at least two students with one adult. 

 

However, this is not always possible when providing students with transportation to or from classes, rehearsals, or performances. All Circus Up staff are thoroughly vetted by the Staff Training Committee and Executive Director during the hiring process and undergo a Criminal Offender Records Information (CORI) background check from the Massachusetts Criminal History Systems Board.

 

 

If an employee agrees to transport a child in a vehicle of their own, it must be an insured vehicle.
