FIREARMS RANGE RULES, REGULATIONS & WAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR MEADOW RIDGE ENTERPRISES, LLC d/b/a Meadow Ridge Outdoors (MRO)

Must be signed and followed by all who enter range whether shooting or observing

1.    GUNS & TARGETS BROUGHT INTO THE RANGE:

ALL firearms brought onto the premise and/or into the store/range must be completely UNLOADED and ammo carried separately from the firearm(s) until you are checked in, a release is signed, and you are on the range or in your lane ready and cleared to shoot. All guns and ammunition are subject to inspection by MRO management for cleanliness, workability and safety before entering the range. Targets may be brought into the range ONLY if approved by MRO management.

RANGE SAFETY OFFICER: (RSO)

  1. The RSO on duty is in direct charge of the range and all participants at all times.
  2. The RSO will ban from the range any person handling a firearm in an unsafe or careless manner. The RSO may also void membership should such conduct be warranted. 

FIRING LINE PROCEDURE:

  1. Only one loaded gun at a time. No other gun handling behind the firing line.
  2. Make sure your hearing and eye protection are on before entering the range.
  3. The MUZZLE MUST BE POINTED DOWN RANGE AT ALL TIMES.
  4. If a mechanical malfunction occurs, consult with the RSO as needed.
  5. Only line of sight firing is permitted. (No drawing from the hip or holster unless you are in training with a qualified instructor or otherwise credentialed.) Keep your finger off the trigger until on target.
  6. When leaving the firing line temporarily, lay the firearm with the muzzle down range and the action open.
  7. Upon completion of shooting session, unload firearm(s) with the action opened, unless it is cased.
  8. Cease Firing means...STOP SHOOTING AND WAIT FOR INSTRUCTION.
  9. DO NOT REMOVE JAMMED OR MALFUNCTIONING FIREARMS away from the lane; contact the RSO immediately for removal if you need assistance.

3.    VANDALISM:

Any person seen firing at lights, baffles, carriers or any other range property or equipment will have their membership suspended, and will be reported to the proper authorities for appropriate action. Firing at boxes, cups, or other objects is prohibited. Only targets authorized by the RSO will be permitted. All shooters will be held accountable and will pay for any damage caused including replacement and installation charges.

4. PERMISSABLE FIREARMS:

INDOOR

Rifles: Rimfire and pistol calibers.  

INDOOR Handguns: Most handguns except those chambered for centerfire rifle ammunition above 2,000 fps are permitted on the range.  Check with management or RSO if you are unsure.

OUTDOOR:  Most handguns/rifles are generally permitted. (revolver, semi-automatic). 

  • Full automatic firearms are allowed at the discretion of the RSO/Management and proper paperwork must be presented in advance.
  • Black powder muzzle loading firearms are permitted on range with permission only.
  • Shotguns are allowed at the discretion of the RSO. 
  • All air guns and BB guns are allowed with permission of the RSO. For firearms not mentioned here, check with the RSO prior to use on the range.


5.    PERMISSABLE AMMUNITION: (INDOOR/OUTDOOR)**** NO 50BMG ****

  1. Standard commercial and reload ammunition is permitted.
  2. ANY type ammunition designed for penetrating metal is NOT permitted.
  3. NO STEEL JACKETED, STEEL SHOT OR STEEL CORE BULLETS permitted.
  4. No tracer, incendiary, armor piercing, gas or explosive ammunition permitted.


6.    FIRING LINE OCCUPANTS:

  1. (All persons using the facilities shall be of good character.) Appropriate dress is required at all times. Meadow Ridge Outdoors is a family-oriented facility and we have the right to refuse service to anyone. Persons smelling of alcohol on their breath or who appears impaired will be required to leave the facility.
  2. All persons utilizing the range are required to receive, understand and sign the rules, regulations and disclaimer and waiver of liability notice.
  3. A responsible adult must accompany persons under twenty-one (21) years of age. This adult shall act as a coach, and MUST remain with the minor(s) at all times while the minor(s) is utilizes the range.
  4. NO FOOD, CHEWING TOBACCO, SNUFF OR SMOKING ALLOWED ON THE RANGE. (INDOOR)
  5. Only one shooter and coach permitted per firing lane; only one un-cased firearm permitted at the firing lane.
  6. Persons not shooting or coaching are not permitted on the firing line.
  7. No one is permitted forward of the firing line or beyond the station area. (NO EXCEPTION)
  8. Any equipment or other personal items in/on a shooting lane left unattended are at the owner’s risk. Meadow Ridge Outdoors is not responsible for lost or stolen items.


7.    BRASS RETRIEVAL:

  1. ALL RANGE BRASS IS TO BE PUSHED FORWARD OF THE STATION OR DEPOSITED IN THE PROVIDED BRASS BUCKETS. IF YOU WISH TO RETRIEVE YOUR BRASS FOR RELOADING, FOLLOW RSO DIRECTIONS.
  2. DO NOT ENTER THE RANGE TO RETRIEVE ANY BRASS WITH OUT RSO DIRECTIVE.


8.    EYE PROTECTION:

Safety glasses are MANDATORY when entering the range. Meadow Ridge Outdoors sells safety glasses for a nominal fee.

9.  HEARING PROTECTION:

Hearing protection is MANDATORY when entering the range. Meadow Ridge Archery and Gun rents hearing protection for a nominal fee or you may purchase from our inventory.

By my signature below, intending to be legally bound hereby, the undersigned acknowledges full and complete satisfaction by Meadow Ridge Outdoors of all claims, demands, damages, and liabilities based on my participation at Meadow Ridge Outdoors; waives, cancels, remises and forever discharges any obligation or liability of Meadow Ridge Outdoors for any claim based on my participation at the Shooting Range; and agrees and does hereby absolutely agrees and does hereby absolutely and unequivocally release from any liability and hold harmless Meadow Ridge Outdoors and any of its employees, instructors, agents, representatives, MASTERs or members of the board in regard to any use on or off the property or facilities of Meadow Ridge Outdoors. This release is for any and all liability for personal injuries (including death) and property losses or damage occasioned by, or in connection with ANY activity or accommodations on or off Meadow Ridge Outdoors property. The undersigned further agrees to abide by all rules and regulations of Meadow Ridge Outdoors and agrees to pay for any and all damages caused by their firearms, ammunition, vehicle or self and/or guests. I further understand that shooting (archery or firearms) can be dangerous and will at all times exercise safe handling practices. I agree to indemnify Meadow Ridge Outdoors from and against any and all manner of claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs or expenses of any nature or kind whatsoever, including attorney fees and court costs, which may now or hereafter be sustained, suffered or incurred by Meadow Ridge Outdoors as a result or any claims asserted by me or by any other member or guest as a result of my participation at Meadow Ridge Outdoors. *** NO 50BMG ***

• For anyone under 21 years of age (minor status), the Meadow Ridge Outdoors Liability Statement for A Minor MUST be signed by a parent or legal guardian who is present to accompany the minor while shooting. I have fully read, understand and agree to abide by the range rules, regulations and waiver of liability.
