Fenrock prioritises safety above all. Given the inherent risks involved in climbing activities. It is a requirement to read, understand, and sign this waiver before you OR an accompanied person uses any of the facilites at the climbing centre. Assumption of Risk Climbing is a physically strenuous activity with inherent risks and hazards. Risks include, but are not limited to, falls and improper use of equipment. By signing this waiver, you acknowledge and accept these risks on behalf of yourself AND the person in your care whilst on the premises. Responsibilities: ● Awareness: You understand that climbing activities and use of gym equipment require physical exertion, balance, and overexertion may result in serious injury. ● Fitness: You declare that you AND the person you are supervising are physically fit and able to participate in activities at Fenrock Limited. If you have any health concerns or medical conditions that could be affected by strenuous activity, a medical professional should be consulted prior to climbing and using the facilities at Fenrock Limited. ● Equipment: You agree to use all the facilities as per the induction, safety video and Fenrock Limited terms and conditions. ● Supervisers are responsible for the safety and behaviour of the assigned accompanied person.You agree to actively supervise them at all times during their activities in the centre. ● Competence: You confirm that you are competent in the use of the climbing centre and are able to adequately supervise and instruct the person in your care following Fenrock Limited's safety guidelines and rules. ● Emergency: In case of an emergency, you agree to follow the emergency procedures laid out by Fenrock Limited. All climbing activities (encompassing roped climbing, bouldering and auto belay activities) have a risk of serious injury or death. Supervisors must be aware and accept that even if they follow all good practice there may still be the risk of accident and injury. It is the responsibility of the Supervisor to adhere to the conditions of use. Accidents can happen without any contributory negligence from Fenrock Limited or its staff. Fenrock Limited can accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property or for personal injury not arising as a result of its own act or default. Fenrock does not provide personal accident insurance. It is recommended that participants/ guardians/ supervisors consider taking out personal injury cover. The Fall Zone (Matting): You acknowledge that stepping onto the matting is a high-risk action. You must look up and check the wall above you before stepping on. You remain responsible for your own safety and positioning as well as the participanty while on the mats and in the climbing centre.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Behavioral & Personal Support: As the 1:1 supervisor, you accept full responsibility for the participant’s specific behavioral, emotional, or physical support needs. Safety Ownership: You are responsible for ensuring your own safe use of the facilities. You are responsible for assessing the risks to yourself and the participant as you move through the centre. Medical Intervention: If the participant requires specific medical intervention (e.g., Inhaler, Epi-Pen), you are the primary lead for administration.
PREBOOKED GROUP INSTRUCTOR LED SESSIONS ONLY If you are booked into a pre-booked group session which is run by an instructor, Fenrock staff are responsible only for the technical climbing instruction and the general safety management of the group session. Safety Ownership: You are responsible for ensuring your own safe use of the facilities. While the instructor will lead the session and provide safety briefings, you are responsible for assessing the risks to yourself and the participant as you move through the centre. Instruction vs. Supervision: I understand that the instructor is present to lead the technical activity only. My presence as a 1:1 supervisor is required because I am the person responsible for the participant's well-being and safety as well as my own personal safety. I acknowledge that Fenrock is not providing 1:1 supervision for me or the participant; they are providing an instructor led session in which I am an active, safety-conscious participant-supervisor. Instructor instructions: You must follow all safety directions given by the instructor immediately. If the participant becomes distressed or does not wish to continue, you agree to lead them safely to a designated "quiet zone" away from the climbing area.
SUPERVISOR DECLARATION I confirm that I have watched the safety video at fenrock.com and have understood my responsibilities as a supervisor. I am confident and competent in my ability to fully supervise, support and be entirely responsible for the participant at all times. I understand that I am present to provide at the required ratio and that I must not participate in climbing myself whilst supervising.
Waiver of Liability By signing this waiver, the supervised person AND the supervisor, release Fenrock, its employees, directors, and agents from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action due to injury, death or damage to personal property arising out of your participation in activities at the climbing centre. Confirmation of Understanding I, the undersigned, have read and understood this waiver, and I acknowledge that by signing it I am waiving legal rights that I may have against Fenrock Limited. Please note the ability to register and use the facilities and climbing wall at Fenrock Limited, does not imply that a person is competent to climb in any natural rock or outdoor environment.
Event Participation Disclaimer
By participating or SUPERVISING in any event hosted by Fenrock Limited, including but not limited to: "The Gravity Games, Fenbloc, Titan Test, YCS, Glow in the Dark", or any other event—you acknowledge and accept that climbing and related activities carry inherent risks, including the risk of serious injury or death.
While Fenrock takes reasonable steps to minimise risks through appropriate safety measures, you must be aware that injuries can be common in extreme sports and activities.
Participation is entirely at your own risk.
By signing this waiver, you confirm that you understand these risks, are or have permission from the minors legal guardian to attend the event and to agree to release Fenrock Limited, its staff, event partners, and affiliates from any liability for injury, loss, or damage incurred by you, any under-18 participant in your care, or any individual you are supervising, during or as a result of participation.
