Fenrock prioritises safety above all. Given the inherent risks involved in climbing activities, all novice climbers and their supervisors are required to read, understand, and sign this waiver before participating in any climbing related activities at the centre. Assumption of Risk Climbing is a physically strenuous activity with inherent risks and hazards. Risks include, but are not limited to, falls and improper use of equipment. By signing this waiver, you acknowledge and accept these risks. Responsibilities of a Novice Climber ● Awareness: You understand that climbing activities require physical exertion, balance, and overexertion may result in serious injury. ● Fitness: You declare that you are physically fit to participate in climbing activities. If you have any health concerns or medical conditions that could be affected by strenuous activity, you should consult with a medical professional before climbing. ● Equipment: You agree to use all climbing equipment correctly, as instructed by Fenrock staff or your supervisor. Responsibilities of a Supervisor ● Supervision: As a supervisor, you are responsible for the safety and behaviour of your novice climber. You agree to actively supervise them at all times during their activities in the centre. ● Competence: You confirm that you are competent in the use of the climbing centre and are able to adequately supervise and instruct a novice climber. ● Emergency: In case of an emergency, you agree to follow the emergency procedures laid out by Fenrock. Waiver of Liability By signing this waiver, you, the novice climber and the supervisor, release Fenrock, its employees, directors, and agents from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action due to injury, death or damage to personal property arising out of your participation in activities at the climbing centre. Confirmation of Understanding I, the undersigned, have read and understood this waiver, and I acknowledge that by signing it I am waiving legal rights that I may have against Fenrock. Please note the ability to register and use the facilities and climbing wall at Fenrock, does not imply that a person is competent to climb in any natural rock or outdoor environment. |
