Welcome Traveler!! We are excited you will be joining us on The Scuba Company’s upcoming cenote and ocean dive trip to Playa del Carmen, from January 30th 2027 to February 6th 2027. Below is some key information, the payment structure, and the trip's cancellation policy. Please view the trip flyer for more detailed information about the resort and trip, as this is only a snapshot of the most valuable information. Role of The Scuba Company The Scuba Company acts as a travel coordinator and dive shop organizer for this trip. All accommodations, transportation, diving services, excursions, and related activities are provided by independent third-party vendors. The Scuba Company does not own, operate, or control these third-party providers and assumes no liability for their acts, omissions, negligence, or performance. Assumption of Risk & Diving Activities The traveler acknowledges that scuba diving, cavern/cenote diving, boat diving, and related activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to serious injury, decompression sickness, drowning, marine life encounters, and death. By participating in this trip, the traveler voluntarily assumes all risks associated with these activities. Diver/Travelers Responsibility Travelers participating in diving activities certify that they: - Are properly trained and certified for the dives they will undertake
- Are medically fit to dive
- Will follow all instructions of dive professionals and local operators
The Scuba Company is not responsible for verifying certification levels or medical fitness. Travelers are responsible for ensuring they meet all passport, visa, and entry requirements. No refunds will be issued for failure to comply. Itinerary Changes Clause: All activities, dive sites, and excursions are subject to change based on weather, safety conditions, and operator discretion. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Key Information: ~Trip Includes- Airport Transfer, transfers to and from dive sites, nitrox on cavern diving days. There will be two dives with bull sharks, two on the wreck of the C56 where eagle rays are usually seen migrating, two along the Cozumel reef, and four in cenotes. Included is a day trip to Chichén Itzá for our dry day. We will stay at The Reef, an all-inclusive resort at the end of the famous Quinta Ave shopping and tourist area. ~Flights- Flights are NOT included. Both United Airlines and American Airlines have flights to the area, as well as other smaller airlines. We suggest flying into the new Tulum airport on Saturday, January 30th, on either UA 1600 or AA 163. Suggested departure is from the Tulum airport on Saturday, February 6th, on UA 1601 or AA 163. Please let us know of your specific flight plans once you make them. ~Passport requirements- At least six months after your scheduled departure from Playa del Carmen. (Valid until at least July 7, 2027) ~Currency- The national currency in Mexico is the Mexican Peso (MXN). However, the US Dollar is widely accepted across Mexico, especially in the more touristy places like Playa del Carmen. Most tour companies, restaurants, and even some shops will have their prices in both pesos and dollars. ~Rental Equipment - The Scuba Company operates on a first-come, first-served basis after monthly class needs have been met. If you need rental gear, please let us know which gear is requested and what sizes. The shop will do its best to accommodate your needs. If The Scuba Company is unable to do so, gear is available for rent in Playa del Carmen, and coordination can be done with our Travel Liaison. Gear pickup is scheduled for Friday, January 29th 2027, unless otherwise arranged with the Shop. ~Accommodation- Cost is based on double occupancy. If you are going on the trip solo, you can either request to have the room to yourself at a single occupancy rate, or we will assign a roommate of the same gender. Unless other arrangements are discussed and agreed upon with our Travel Liaison. ~Suggested gratuities-10-20% of the total trip cost is suggested to bring to pay your gratuities at the end of your time with the respected personnel. Payment structure: As a traveler, you agree to make the deposit and MINIMUM non-refundable monthly payments (See payment structure, last page) towards your trip and to have your trip paid off by December 15th 2026. payments are laid out from the month of announcement when the deposit is due to secure a slot on the trip if you are signing up after the initial deposit month (March 2026) you will need to make the non-refundable deposit ($550) and applicable non-refundable past monthly payments to secure your slot on the trip and catch up on the payments. It is vital that you make the minimum monthly payments towards your trip so that The Scuba Company can make its required payments in preparation for your upcoming diving adventure. *Notes: - Missed payments - If you miss two months' worth of payments without coordination with The Scuba Company owner, you will be removed from the trip without notice and with no refund.

Cancellation Policy: Deposits and payments are non-refundable, but can be transferred if your plans change and you can find a replacement. The Scuba Company strongly recommends purchasing trip insurance upon signing up for the trip, as it is a non-refundable trip. A recommendation is DAN insurance (https://apps.dan.org/trip-insurance/?rc=3051657&token=na) Vaccination Recommendation/Requirements: Please consult with your primary care doctor to inform them of your upcoming foreign travel plans and review your current medical records and vaccination history to determine the best course of action for you. Additionally, please prepare to have an extra supply of your current medications with you on the trip so you are prepared IF an emergency should arise that delays your return to the US, AND always hand carry your medication. If you utilize a pill organizer, have your prescription labels with you - your doctor will be able to provide a list for you that generally includes a description of the pill for identifying purposes in case you are asked during travels through customs. WhatsApp: This Wi-Fi-enabled messaging service will be utilized for group communication as it is a secure messaging system that will work via Wi-Fi even while on travel without costing you. Major detailed information will be emailed, but smaller reminders, photos, and scheduling will be handled via the App. If you have any questions, please reach out to the team at The Scuba Company and/or the Travel Liaison. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Mexico, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under or related to this Agreement shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located within New Mexico, and the parties hereby consent to the jurisdiction of such courts. Dispute Resolution / Arbitration
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this Agreement, the trip, or services provided by The Scuba Company shall be resolved through binding arbitration, rather than in court, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall take place in the State of New Mexico, and judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. Each party shall bear its own legal fees and costs unless otherwise determined by the arbitrator. By agreeing to this provision, the traveler waives the right to a trial by jury or to participate in a class action lawsuit. Photo and Media Release
The traveler grants The Scuba Company and its partners permission to use photographs, video, and other media captured during the trip that may include the traveler’s image or likeness for marketing, promotional, and social media purposes, without compensation. If the traveler does not wish to have their image used, they must notify The Scuba Company in writing prior to the start of the trip. By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to all terms and conditions outlined in this agreement, including the assumption of risk, cancellation policy, and limitation of liability.
