LIABILITY WAIVER AND RELEASE AGREEMENT

Ghosts of the Jungle Tactical Shooting Event

Task Force Garrison (501(c)(3))

Garrison Range – Pershing County, Nevada

READ THIS BEFORE SIGNING

This is a full release of liability. If you do not understand it, do not sign it. If you sign it, you are giving up legal rights.

1. INHERENT RISK

I understand exactly what this event is:

A live-fire, tactically themed shooting event involving pistols, semi-automatic rifles, bolt-action rifles, and automatic machine guns, combined with movement, obstacles, stress, and environmental factors.

I acknowledge the obvious:

  • Firearms are dangerous
  • People get injured when things go wrong
  • Things can go wrong fast

Risks include, but are not limited to:

  • Gunshot wounds
  • Permanent injury or disability
  • Hearing damage
  • Falls, collisions, and environmental hazards
  • Negligent or accidental acts by myself or others
  • Death

I accept all of it.

2. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I voluntarily choose to participate.

I accept all risks, whether caused by:

  • My actions
  • The actions of others
  • Equipment failure
  • Range conditions
  • Negligence of the Released Parties

There is no misunderstanding here:

I am responsible for what happens to me.

3. RELEASE OF LIABILITY

I hereby release and waive all claims against:

  • Task Force Garrison (501(c)(3))
  • All event staff, RSOs, instructors, volunteers
  • Property owners and range operators
  • Sponsors, partners, and affiliates

(“Released Parties”)

For any injury, damage, or death arising from this event, including those caused by negligence.

I will not sue. I will not pursue claims.

This release applies to the maximum extent allowed under Nevada law.

4. HOLD HARMLESS / INDEMNIFICATION

If my actions cause injury, damage, or legal trouble:

I will cover it.

I agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, costs, or legal fees tied to my participation.

5. RULES ARE NOT OPTIONAL

I will:

  • Follow all Range Safety Officer (RSO) commands immediately
  • Keep firearms pointed in a safe direction at all times
  • Keep my finger off the trigger until ready to fire
  • Obey all range rules without hesitation

Failure to comply means:

  • Immediate removal
  • No refund
  • No argument

6. FITNESS AND SOBRIETY

I confirm:

  • I am physically and mentally capable
  • I am not under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • I will not become impaired during the event

If I am unsafe, I understand I will be removed.

7. MEDICAL

If I get hurt:

  • Emergency care may be provided without delay
  • I am financially responsible for all treatment

8. EQUIPMENT

My gear is my responsibility.

I am responsible for:

  • Safe condition of my firearms and equipment
  • Proper handling at all times

No one else is responsible for my equipment. Period.

9. MEDIA RELEASE

I grant permission for photos and video taken during the event to be used by Task Force Garrison for any lawful purpose.

10. LEGAL

  • This agreement is governed by Nevada law
  • Any disputes will be handled in Nevada courts
  • If part of this agreement is invalid, the rest still stands

MINORS (UNDER 18)

No gray area here:

  • A parent or legal guardian must be present at all times
  • The parent/guardian signs this waiver
  • The parent/guardian assumes 100% responsibility

PARENT / GUARDIAN AGREEMENT

I accept full responsibility for the minor.

I understand the risks and accept them on their behalf.

I release and hold harmless all Released Parties from any claims related to the minor’s participation.

FINAL ACKNOWLEDGMENT

I have read this document.

I understand it.

I am signing it voluntarily.

I understand I am giving up my right to sue.
