Float Therapy

Arrival & Pre-Float Instructions

  • You can make selections for music and starlight ceiling or complete silence and darkness at the reception desk.
  • Use the restroom if needed.
  • You have 8 -minutes Pre-Float. During this time, please lock the float room door, insert earplugs based on the package instructions, remove make-up, and apply petroleum jelly to small cuts. Shower using only shampoo and body wash and, be sure to rinse your body completely. If you are menstruating (or expect to begin) use a tampon or sanitary cup during your float. 
  • Carefully enter the float tank, slowly and with caution. Please note the surface may be slippery and use the handrails. 
  • For your convenience, the lights are motion-activated and will automatically turn on and off.

FLOAT Instructions

There is a spray bottle with fresh water and a dry washcloth to use as needed during your float. Lay back and enjoy your float, there is no wrong way to float. The lights/music will come on when it is time to exit the float tank.

Post-Float Instructions

Use the handrails to exit the float tank slowly and carefully (saltwater is slippery). Rinse your hair, then remove your earplugs (you can save your earplugs for subsequent visits). Use the ear rinse (twice is recommended, squeeze gently). Shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Get dressed and exit the room. Use the prep -room attached to the forward bathroom for hair and make-up. Take some time to relax with hydration in the waiting area.

  • I will receive a pre-float tour with verbal instructions during my initial visit about the use and process of the float room. I understand that these written instructions are to serve as the primary source of information and education on the use of the float rooms and the facility.

  • Proper use of the provided earplugs is essential for keeping salt from entering the ear canal. I understand that the earplugs are not designed to be inserted into the ear canal and that they must be applied before showering. As well, I understand that ear tubes are not compatible with floating.

  • I cannot float if I have dyed my hair within 7 days or if any color/dye remains on a white towel. While it will not hurt my hair, the dye could discolor and contaminate the salt water, resulting in a $1,000 cleaning/saltwater change fine.

  • Kairos provides shampoo and body wash for the pre-float shower. Shampoo, body wash, and conditioner are provided for the post-float shower. Should I decide to bring my own personal shampoo, conditioner, and soap, I understand that it may not be used before my float session; personal shampoo, conditioner, and soap may only be used after the float session for the post-float shower. Kairos also provides earplugs, make-up remover washcloths, petroleum jelly, towels, and a robe for your use. We recommend that you bring a brush, comb, and any other personal items you desire.

  • A 5-minute shower using the washcloth to exfoliate and remove natural oils, lotions, deodorants, and hair products, even if I showered before arriving at Kairos, is mandatory. I will honor the 5-minute shower rule to avoid a $1,000 cleaning/saltwater change fine.

  • Kairos takes the cleanliness and sanitation of our water so seriously that we have chosen to enforce a $1,000 fine for anything left in the float room water or as mentioned above, should a person skip the mandatory 5-minute shower. Please be advised that due to the density of the salt, it is very evident if anything is left behind (urine, fecal material, semen, blood, etc). We believe that each of us should use the float facility with the utmost respect for the next client by honoring the water sanitation guidelines.

  • I understand that the float tank solution is not discarded between floats, but is filtered, sanitized, and recycled; that our tanks are inspected between every single float; and that violation of any of these rules that results in contamination of the float tank solution may result in a cleaning or salt replacement fee.

  • I understand that all bottles, crockery, glassware, and other hazardous objects are prohibited in the float room area.

  • I understand I will need to vacate the room to give Kairos Float & Wellness Studio staff the appropriate time needed to clean the float room for the following client. Should I not vacate the room in time, I am aware that there will be an additional charge of $40.00 to my account.

  • I understand that at the end of my float session, the float room music will notify me that my float session is over. At that point, I will exit the float tank to begin my post-float shower. If the staff does not hear the shower running, they will attempt to communicate via the float room two-way intercom system. Should you not respond, please be aware that a staff member will knock on the outside door attempting to wake you. Only after 1) the float room music has turned on, 2) the float tank jets have come on, 3) we have utilized the two-way intercom, and finally 4) knocked on the outside door will we enter the room to wake/inform you that your session is over. If we must enter the room, we will enter with an objective to honor your privacy.

I Agree that I will NOT float if:

  • I have a history of heart trouble, epilepsy, seizures or blackouts. I have informed the staff of Kairos of this medical condition (for knowledge purposes only) and am aware that I will utilize the float rooms by myself or with a partner for safety. I understand if I am experiencing seizures or have a history of seizures, I must have another trusted adult present during my float session should I require immediate attention.

  • I am experiencing or have experienced in the past 72 hours any symptoms of contagious illness such as cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, congestion, headache, muscle or body aches, chills, fever, rash, diarrhea, or vomiting and do not have a confirmed or suspected case of any contagious disease. If I have had any of these symptoms, or a confirmed or suspected case of any contagious disease, I will reschedule my services.

  • I agree to not exceed the session I have reserved and am aware that the pre-float shower is scheduled for 8 -minutes, float time is the full 60- or 90 -minutes, and the post-float shower and changing time is 12 -minutes. I understand I will need to vacate the room to give Kairos staff the appropriate time needed to clean the float room for the following client. Should I not vacate the room in time, I am aware that there will be an additional charge of $40.00 to my account.
  • I agree to lock my private float suite while in use.
