NEW FOR 2025 Conway Arena FREESTYLE Ice Skating Rules Policy

Purpose: To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all skaters at Conway Arena, we have established the following ice rules regarding phone use and video recording.

Phone Use Prohibition:

  • No Phone Use on the Ice: Skaters are prohibited from using mobile phone devices while on the ice surface. This includes texting, calling, or any other form of phone activity.
  • Exceptions: Include emergency response or to communicate with Arena management.
  • Designated Areas: Phone usage is allowed in designated spectator areas (players benches and bleachers)

Video Recording Restrictions:

  • No Video Taping on the Ice: Skaters are not permitted to record video while on the ice surface during freestyle sessions. This includes personal recordings or live streaming, or extended recordings.
  • Exceptions:  Professional Coaches looking to record their own skaters for Learning purposes, while on the ice.
  • SPECTATORS/PARENTS: Videos must be recorded and obtained by professional coaching staff.   Parents cannot film during rink run freestyles.   

Exceptions:

  • In certain circumstances, exceptions may be made for professional filming or specific events (virtual test sessions, promotional videos). Requests are to be made in advance to Conway Arena or the Skating Director. 
  • Conway Arena shall ask permission to use any recordings for promotional materials.  

Responsibility:

  • All skaters and guardians are responsible for adhering to these rules. Parents and guardians are encouraged to communicate these policies to all skaters.

  • Are not permitted to be worm during freestyle Sessions.
