Thank you for choosing to host your special occasion at Kidspace Children’s Museum. This agreement documents the terms, conditions, and campus rules that govern parties and private events at Kidspace Children’s Museum. Please read it carefully. Please read it carefully. If you have any questions, please contact birthdays@kidspacemuseum.org before signing.

By signing this agreement, you accept its terms and agree that you and your guests will abide by Kidspace’s campus rules and guest code of conduct.

Party Host

As the Party Host, you agree to be the primary point of contact for this party and you agree to be responsible for paying all associated costs.

Party Date and Time

Your party date and start time are listed on your invoice. Your party reservation runs for two hours from the indicated start time. The Party Host will have access to the party area 45 minutes prior to your party start time. After your party ends, you will have 45 minutes to remove your items from the party area, after which time your group will no longer have access to the space and the next group may arrive.

Party Area

Your party reservation includes private access to a specific party area at a specific time, both of which are listed on your invoice. Each party area has a specific maximum occupancy. Guests above the stated occupancy limit cannot be accommodated and will be asked to leave the party area.

Guest Count

Your party area includes Kidspace admission for a set number of guests based on the party space you have reserved. Your party must include one adult (age 18 or over) for every 5 children

Access to the Party Area

The Party Host will have access to the party area 45 minutes prior to the party start time. During the set-up time, Kidspace staff members may be preparing the space for your party activities. Party guests are not permitted in the party area until the scheduled party time.

You may order catering directly through the Bean Sprouts’ website (https://beansprouts.com/order-online-kcm-catering/#/restaurants/beansproutskcmcatering/19021), by emailing them at kcm@beansprouts.com, or by calling (626) 460-8830.

You are welcome to bring your own food, but Kidspace cannot provide refrigeration. Alcohol, glass, open flames, and cooking on site are not permitted. Should you choose to bring your own food you are responsible for set-up, boxing, and cleaning within the allotted party time as well as using your own to-go containers when clearing the food.

Kidspace staff are not permitted to handle food, cake, or beverages.

Outside Vendors

Outside vendors, such as photographers, party planners, or entertainers must be approved in advance by Kidspace. Once approved, vendors must provide insurance which meets Kidspace requirements. Kidspace can provide a list of pre-approved party vendors upon request. Unapproved vendors who arrive the day of the party will not be admitted.

You are welcome to bring décor, however there is limited time prior to the party start time for decorating. Please plan your decorations accordingly. Your décor may not be taped to the walls, floor, or ceiling, and walkways may not be obstructed.

Piñatas, trick candles, firecracker candles, balloon arches, pretend weaponry, water balloons, and outside furniture are not allowed. Helium balloons must be weighted before entering the party space. The Party Host is responsible for clearing the party area of all décor prior to the end of the party.

Loading and Unloading

You will be able to load and unload your car in front of Kidspace. However, because the City of Pasadena does not permit parking on the roads in front of Kidspace, you will be asked to relocate your car to Rose Bowl Lot I before your party starts. Our party facilitator will meet the Party Host in the loading area and assist with moving items into the Party Area.

You and your guests may park in Rose Bowl Lot I. Lot I is free and generally has ample available space. However, it is first come, first served, and open to all park visitors. Therefore, Kidspace cannot guarantee spaces for every guest.

Guest Arrival

You and your guests are welcome to arrive early and enjoy Kidspace. Guests cannot be admitted to the Party Area before your reserved time. Additionally, we recommend that the Party Host be present when guests arrive. Kidspace cannot be responsible for identifying guests on your list if you are not present.

After the Party

Following your reserved time in the Party Area you and your guests are welcome to enjoy the day at Kidspace for the rest of our operating hours.

Kidspace Campus Rules

You and your guests agree to abide by Kidspace campus rules and code of conduct as follows:

  • Kidspace encourages developmentally appropriate risk-taking and recognizes that play can allow children to test their limits and build resilience. There is inherent risk in all elements of play. Parents and guardians should consider the unique capabilities of their children when selecting activities at Kidspace and are responsible for the supervision and safety of their children at all times. Please stay close to your children and use play elements only as intended. Ask a staff person for guidance, if needed. Kidspace Children’s Museum is not responsible for injuries that occur on campus.
  • Minors under the age of 18 may not visit the museum without being accompanied by a legal adult guardian. Adults without accompanying children will not be admitted. Please arrange for your entire party to be present at admission before entering the museum.
  • Kidspace Children’s Museum reserves the right to refuse service and/or access, onsite and online, to any individuals disregarding Kidspace policies or disrespectful of Kidspace guests, staff, exhibits or property.
  • We expect guests to respect Kidspace staff and other visitors and to help us maintain an atmosphere appropriate for young children. Kidspace will not tolerate inappropriate behavior or abusive, demeaning, foul, or harassing language.
  • Use of electronic cigarettes, tobacco products, cannabis products, or any illegal substance is prohibited at Kidspace. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in Brookside park (Pasadena city ordinance, PMC 8.78.051).
  • Alcoholic beverages are not permitted at Kidspace except during authorized after-hours events.
  • Firearms, ammunition, knives, or weapons of any kind are prohibited.
  • Unauthorized events, demonstrations, signs, solicitations, or distribution of printed or recorded materials are prohibited.
  • Proper attire must be worn at all times. Shoes must be worn in all areas of the museum, including water areas, except the Early Childhood Learning Center where socks are required. Clothing, accessories, or visible tattoos that we consider to be inappropriate for small children or families, or which could detract from the experience of other guests, are not permitted.
  • Entry to Kidspace constitutes consent for the museum to photograph, video, or record your image and voice for educational, fundraising, promotional, or other purposes without compensation. Kidspace campus is monitored by security cameras.
  • Kidspace is not responsible for loss or damage of belongings or property.
  • We reserve the right to prohibit any other activity that we determine may be harmful or disruptive at any time.
  • Kidspace Children’s Museum reserves the right to refuse service and/or access, onsite and online, to any individuals disregarding Kidspace policies or disrespectful of Kidspace guests, staff, exhibits, or property. Failure to comply with these policies may result in denial of admission, immediate removal from campus, and/or revocation of membership without refund.

Code of Conduct

Kidspace is designed to foster a joyful learning experience for children, their families, and caregivers. We provide a safe and welcoming space for staff and guests to play and learn together. We expect our staff, volunteers, vendors, and guests to act with responsibility, respect, and integrity during their time here at the museum, and to contribute to building a space where everyone is invited to play.

  • Be kind – Share the space by being respectful and courteous to others around you. Please do not touch or verbally reprimand a child from another family.
  • Watch your children – Provide adult supervision to your children at all times during your visit.
  • Treat things well – Use equipment and exhibits safely and appropriately so that all Kidspace guests can enjoy them.
  • Respect others – Be mindful that your behavior and language can affect others and should be appropriate for even our youngest guests.
  • Assume good intentions – Model positive behaviors and understand that sometimes another child’s play may unintentionally interfere with your child’s play.
  • We are here to help! – Contact Kidspace staff immediately with any questions, needs, or concerns.

Kidspace Children’s Museum reserves the right to refuse admission, revoke membership, control occupancy, or eject any person whose behavior is deemed by management to be disorderly or fails to comply with our code of conduct or policies.

Advance Payment

Payment is due upon receipt of our invoice. Reservations are not complete until payment is received and this agreement is signed and submitted.

Rain and Weather Adjustments

In general, our party locations are available rain or shine. In some circumstances, weather may require us to relocate your party to another area of Kidspace. Should this occur, we will refund any difference in price based on the cost of the replacement party area.

Potential Brookside Park Impacts

Kidspace is located in Brookside Park, a public recreational area operated by the city of Pasadena which is home to the Rose Bowl, and which hosts a variety of public events. The city and the Rose Bowl keep public calendars of events, and we encourage Party Hosts to refer to those calendars as their party date approaches. Typically, Brookside Park events are scheduled months in advance, and Kidspace plans our party offerings to avoid major impacts.

However, on rare occasions the Rose Bowl or Brookside Park may add events with less than a month notice. In the unusual circumstance that a Brookside event forces Kidspace to close on your party date, Kidspace will make every effort to reschedule your group for the next possible, mutually agreeable date. Should no date be agreeable, we will refund your party cost in full.

Cancellations and Refunds

You may cancel or reschedule up to 15 days prior to your event. If you request a refund, a $75 processing fee will apply. We cannot refund or reschedule parties within 14 days of the party date. No shows that result in unused admissions or other party expenses are non-refundable.
