Participation Statement

“All climbing and bouldering activities have a risk of severe injury or death. Participants must be aware of and accept that even if they follow all good practice there may still be the risk of accident and injury. It is the responsibility of the participant to adhere to the conditions of use.”

It is important that you understand this document. By signing this form, you are stating you understand that these risks cannot be completely removed. If you do not understand any of the terminology or content, ask a member of staff to clarify.


Acknowledgment of Risk

Bouldering (indoor and outdoors) comes with managed risk; please be aware that knocks, bumps and scrapes cannot always be avoided. Due to the nature of outdoor bouldering, holds are naturally formed and not man made, this means they can be sharp and abrasive or may break which may cause small cuts and/or abrasions. In extremely rare circumstances participating in this activity could result in injury. 

BOULDER PADS DO NOT REMOVE THE RISK OF INJURY. Injuries can still occur even after a controlled/planned jump but are more likely after an uncontrolled fall. You should always be doing your utmost to avoid the risk of uncontrolled falls. This includes paying attention to how you will land and always assessing the risk of each climb that you undertake.

Dyno Climbing Ltd is not responsible for the use of the equipment. We only provide equipment to be used under the skills and abilities of the hirer, we require no proof of ability and offer no advice or instruction in the use of the equipment and how they are to be used. Dyno Climbing Ltd cannot be held responsible for any injury caused by the misuse of boulder pads or any other injuries sustained during the agreed rental period. 


Hiring Rates

- First day: £15 per pad

- Subsequent days: £10 per pad, per day

- £50 deposit per pad is required (via card or cash)

- £2.50 for guidebook hire (free with hire of 2 or more pads)

Payment for the entire rental period and the deposit is due upon collection.


Boulder Pad

The Metolius Session II Pad is a medium sized pad so you will be pretty well protected without having a giant pad to try and wrestle into your car. The pad has a flap closure system which means you can sandwich your gear in the pad when it is closed and keep it securely in place.

Terms and Conditions of Hiring

- Dyno Climbing Ltd will provide equipment that is in good working order, we will check this equipment upon collection and return to ensure it meets these standards. 

- The renter agrees to collect and return the hired equipment during centre opening hours (Weekdays: 10am – 9pm, Weekends 12 - 9pm, unless arranged otherwise.)

- A £50 deposit will be taken per pad at time of collection. The deposit will be refunded upon return and inspection of the hired equipment.

- All hired equipment must be returned in good, clean condition with no rips, tears, excessive soiling or breakages to any components. We will assess the condition of the equipment upon return and will accept fair wear for the period hired for. Any damage beyond fair wear and tear will incur a £50 minimum charge, subject to assessment. 

- Any significant damage to the hired equipment that could affect its safety or ability to be hired out again, such as but not limited to; rips, tears, excessive soiling or broken components, will result in all of the deposit being kept by Dyno Climbing Ltd. 

- All hired equipment will be checked upon collection and any existing damage noted. Should you spot any damage not noted, please make us aware at time of collection.

- If any pads are not returned, returned with irreparable damage, or lost/stolen, the renter agrees to pay the full replacement cost of £180 for the pad. Any incident of theft will be passed directly to the local authorities. 

- If the guidebook is not returned, returned with irreparable damage, or lost/stolen, the renter agrees to pay the full replacement cost of £25.  Any incident of theft will be passed directly to the local authorities. 

- Any pads returned after the agreed rented return time will result in the additional fee per day(s) as per the standard day rental rate being taken from the deposit amount.
