Participant Waiver, Release of Liability & Photo Release


Please read carefully before participating.

By registering for and participating in the Coastal Yeehaw Half (the “Event”), I acknowledge and agree to the following:

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand that participating in the Event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Running, walking, or participating in physical activity over uneven terrain
  • Slips, trips, falls, collisions, and accidents
  • Exposure to traffic, cyclists, pedestrians, beach terrain, gravel, pavement, weather conditions, wildlife, and ocean/coastal environments
  • Physical exertion, dehydration, fatigue, illness, or injury
  • Risks associated with participating in an unsanctioned endurance event

I understand that the route remains open to the public and that participants are responsible for remaining aware of their surroundings at all times.

I voluntarily choose to participate knowing these risks exist and accept full responsibility for my participation.


RELEASE OF LIABILITY

In consideration for being permitted to participate in the Event, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless:

  • Natural Freedom
  • Tofino Resort + Marina
  • District of Tofino
  • Ministry of Transportation and Transit

All event organizers, volunteers, contractors, sponsors, partners, and affiliated personnel from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in the Event, including injury, illness, property damage, loss, or death, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.


MEDICAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I confirm that I am physically capable of participating in this Event and have not been advised otherwise by a medical professional.

I understand that I am solely responsible for my own health, safety, hydration, pacing, and decision-making during the Event.

In the event of an emergency, I authorize Event organizers or emergency personnel to secure medical treatment on my behalf if necessary. I understand that any associated costs are my responsibility.


EVENT UNDERSTANDING

I acknowledge and understand that:

  • The Coastal Yeehaw Half is an unsanctioned and untimed community event
  • There are no official race standings, podiums, or timing systems
  • Participants are expected to act responsibly and respectfully toward volunteers, community members, local businesses, pedestrians, cyclists, and fellow participants
  • The route remains open to the public at all times

I agree to follow all instructions from event organizers and volunteers.


PHOTO & MEDIA RELEASE

I grant Natural Freedom and affiliated Event partners permission to photograph, film, and otherwise capture my participation in the Event.

I authorize the use of these photos/videos for promotional, marketing, social media, website, editorial, and future event purposes without compensation or further approval.

I understand that images and media captured during the Event may be publicly shared.


PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

I acknowledge that participation is voluntary and that I assume full responsibility for any risk of injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in the Event.
