Volunteer Flight Companion Agreement & Waiver

Purpose

Fly Hawaii Cats connects volunteer travelers with adoptable cats who need assistance reaching their new homes. Volunteers act as independent companions helping a cat complete its journey.

Volunteer Role

By participating, I understand that:

  • I am acting as a volunteer, not an employee or agent
  • I am temporarily responsible for the cat during travel
  • I agree to follow all airline rules and requirements
  • I will ensure the cat remains safely in its carrier at all times

Travel Understanding

  • The cat is traveling as a companion animal during my trip
  • I agree to communicate with Fly Hawaii Cats coordinators before, during, and after travel
  • I understand that flight changes or delays may occur

Animal Care Responsibility

I agree to:

  • Handle the cat with care and compassion
  • Not remove the cat from the carrier unless in a completely secured room, and only in emergency.
  • Monitor the cat’s well-being during travel
  • Immediately report any concerns or emergencies

Liability Waiver

I understand and agree that:

  • Fly Hawaii Cats, Maui Cat Rescue, and any affiliated partners are not liable for:
  • Travel disruptions
  • Airline decisions or denied boarding
  • Injury, illness, or unforeseen incidents
  • I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation

No Compensation

  • I understand this is a volunteer-based activity
  • I will not receive payment unless otherwise agreed in advance
