Fourth Moon Camp’s Code of Conduct is based on common principles of respect, empathy, and risk management, for the benefit of our community as a whole. Failure to abide by this code at Fourth Moon Camp events, or elsewhere, may result in temporary or permanent revocation of invitation to Fourth Moon Camp events. Safety: There are inherent risks involved in outdoor recreation. While these risks can’t be eliminated altogether, we do our best to minimize them. Please practice safety first. Use accurate self-assessment; know your capabilities and limits. Be aware of the space around you and what people are doing. Riskier material should be saved for environments with appropriate safety infrastructure. Asking for, and providing guidance from an experienced community member can help mitigate risks also. Drugs & Alcohol: Illegal and illicit substances have no place at Fourth Moon Camp events. Obviously intoxicated, inebriated, or influenced persons whose behavior is affecting others, the environment, or their own personal safety will be required to leave all private property/premises immediately. Law enforcement and emergency medical personnel will be available for assistance if needed. Harassment: Unwelcome sexual advances, sexual coercion or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, whether explicit or implicit, are not permitted at Fourth Moon Camp events. A history of harassing behavior may also preclude invitation/permission to attend Fourth Moon Camp events. Distinct and obvious consent should be considered for a wide array of environments and instances. Public Discourse & Respect: Fourth Moon Camp and its associated events do not permit public discourse in an unproductive manner. All participants of Fourth Moon Camp events may have differing opinions, life experiences, or perspectives; these events are not forums for personal doctrine or agenda. Fourth Moon Camp and its associated events are privately held on private property and behavior related to imposition of personal beliefs on others will not be tolerated. All programming, whether formal or informal, related to Fourth Moon Camp events must be explicitly approved by Fourth Moon Camp and its organizational team. This Code of Conduct shall remain in effect for the duration of my participation in Fourth Moon Camp and its associated events, during this initial and all subsequent events and outcomes of participation. I certify that I am at least eighteen (18) years of age, medically and mentally sound and physically fit to participate in the event described, above, and am competent to enter into this Code of Conduct. If the participant is under eighteen (18) years of age, this document must be signed on behalf of the participant by his or her parents or guardian. I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS CODE OF CONDUCT; I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT IT SHALL LEGALLY BIND ME AND MY ESTATE, AND I SIGN IT FREELY, WILLINGLY, AND VOLUNTARILY. END OF DOCUMENT |
