Policies & Liability Waiver for Drop 'n Shop Service

Thank you for choosing Little Otters Play Cafe’s Drop n' Shop Service. This service allows parents/guardians to leave children in our care for a maximum of 2 hours while shopping or working within the Evergreen Marketplace Plaza. Please review the following carefully.

POLICIES & GENERAL RULES

  • Maximum Time: Children may only be left in care for up to 2 hours. Late pickups will result in fees and/or loss of service privileges.
  • Location of Parent/Guardian: Parents/guardians must remain within Evergreen Marketplace Plaza (Safeway, All Pride Fitness, or neighboring businesses). Leaving the plaza is not permitted while your child is in our care.
  • Availability of Parent/Guardian Parents/guardians must provide a working cell phone number and remain immediately reachable at all times. If staff are unable to reach a parent/guardian after three (3) failed attempts within a reasonable timeframe, additional steps may be taken for the safety of the child, including contacting an alternate emergency contact or, if necessary, local authorities.
  • Child Readiness: Children must be changed and fed prior to drop-off. Staff are not responsible for providing meals or diaper changes.
  • Snacks & Drinks: Parents may provide a nut-free snack and a drink in a closed-lid container for their child.
  • Illness Policy: Children showing signs of illness (fever, cough, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) may not be dropped off. If illness develops during care, parents will be called for immediate pickup.
  • Behavior & Comfort: If a child is inconsolable, unsafe, or aggressive toward others, the parent/guardian will be contacted for immediate pickup.
  • Personal Belongings: Little Otters Play Cafe is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand that participation in activities at Little Otters Play Cafe carries inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Slips, trips, and falls
  • Collisions with equipment or other participants
  • Equipment-related injuries
  • Illness
  • Property loss or damage
  • Injury, permanent disability, or death

I voluntarily assume all risks for my child(ren) while participating in the Drop ’n Shop Service.

PARENT/GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITY

  • I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian of the child(ren) listed below.
  • I agree to remain within Evergreen Marketplace Plaza for the duration of the drop-off.
  • I agree to keep my phone accessible and return immediately if contacted by staff
  • I acknowledge that while staff will provide reasonable supervision, Little Otters Play Cafe is not a licensed childcare facility, and I remain ultimately responsible for my child(ren).

HEALTH STATEMENT

I confirm that my child(ren) is/are healthy, free from contagious illness, and able to safely participate in supervised play.

LIABILITY & RELEASE

I release, waive, indemnify, and hold harmless Little Otters Play Cafe, its owners, employees, contractors, and volunteers from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses related to injury, illness, property loss, or death arising from my child(ren)’s participation in the Drop-Off Service.

PAYMENT FOR DAMAGES

I agree to pay for any damages to property or equipment caused by my child(ren)’s actions, neglect, or recklessness.

ARBITRATION

Any dispute will be mediated in good faith before arbitration or litigation, under the laws of the State of Washington.
