By signing this waiver, I, the Participant, hereby agree to the following: 

Assumption of Risk

I acknowledge that by participating in the programs and activities provided by HFX Roller Skate Association including but not limited to roller and inline skating events and parties, skate classes and coaching and/or any other services offered with rental skates or member's own skates, in facilities used by the HFX Roller Skate Association creates risk of severe bodily injury to the Participant. Risks and hazards include but are not limited to: falls, tripping, collisions with other participants or an object, or equipment malfunction or failure. 

Injuries may include: scratches, bruises and sprains, joint or back injuries, broken bones or concussions, or catastrophic injuries including paralysis and even death. 

Because of my participation in an HFX Roller Skate Association event, program or activity, I acknowledge that I may be exposed to infectious diseases including, but not limited to influenza, MRSA, RSV or Covid-19.

Notwithstanding these risks and other hazards that may be foreseeable but not specifically identified herein, I, and my respective heirs, personal representatives and assigns understand, acknowledge, and expressly and voluntarily assume all risks and full responsibility for any injury arising out of or related to the programs and activities provided by HFX Roller Skate Association. 

Safety Equipment

I acknowledge that safety equipment such as knee pads, wrist guards and a helmet are recommended. Participants choosing not to use safety equipment do so at their own risk. 

Release, Discharge, and Agreement Not to Sue

I waive any and all claims that I have or may have in the future against HFX Roller Skate Association and its members and representatives or HFX Roller Skate Association. I freely accept and fully assume all risks, dangers and hazards and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage or loss, resulting from participation in this event, program or organized activity. I release HRM Roller Skate Association from all liability for any loss, damage, or injury or expense that I myself or anyone under my supervision suffer as a result of participation in this event, program or organized activity due to any cause whatsoever. By signing this agreement, I agree to waive the right to take any legal actions or claims of personal injury, any claims of negligence against HFX Roller Skate Association. I take full responsibility while attending any events, programs or activities.  I freely accept and fully assume all risks, dangers and hazards resulting from my participation in any HFX Roller Skate Association event program or activity. I waive any and all claims that I have or may have in the future against HFX Roller Skate Association for any reason whatsoever.

Indemnification and Hold Harmless

I indemnify and hold harmless HFX Roller Skate Association from any and all liability for any damage to property or personal injury to any third party resulting from participation in this event if such liability is a result of my acting outside the scope of my responsibilities or not in compliance with this agreement.

Term of agreement

The term of this agreement shall commence upon execution of this agreement and the agreement of these terms will be held for all future events hosted by HFX Roller Skate Association. This agreement shall be effective and binding upon my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, assigns, and representatives in the event of my death.

Lost or damaged property

I agree that HFX Roller Skate Association are not responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen property.

Photos and Video

I authorize HFX Roller Skate Association and its members to use my photo/video without limitation for any promotional purposes.

I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT AND I AM AWARE THAT BY SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT I AM WAIVING ANY RIGHT TO TAKE LEGAL ACTIONS WHICH I OR MY HEIRS, NEXT OF KIN, EXECUTORS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND ASSIGNS MAY HAVE AGAINST HFX ROLLER SKATE ASSOCIATION AND THEIR BOARD OF DIRECTORS, CONTRACTORS, SERVANTS, ARCHITECTS, MAINTENANCE COMPANIES, VOLUNTEERS AND THEIR EMPLOYEES.
