Shoot North Idaho

Liability Release & Terms/Conditions

Children must be at least 8 years old to shoot (except during special range classes/times designated by Shoot North Idaho). Minors must be able to follow directions and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who will sign a waiver and stay with them at all times.

1.     Always treat all firearms as if they are loaded

2.     Keep all unholstered and/or uncased firearms pointed in a safe direction/back stop at all times

3.     Keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until ready to fire

4.     Shooting into the air or at high angles is prohibited. Refrain from shooting the floor, ceiling or walls. Be responsible at all times.

5.     Firing speed is restricted to one shot per second. "Double taps" are permitted with a two second pause in between volleys

6.     NEVER handle firearms behind the firing line. All firearms must be cased and uncased on the shooting table only

7.     Never use alcohol or drugs before or while shooting

8.     No food, drink, gum, vaping or tobacco is permitted inside the range for any reason at any time

9.     If you observe an unsafe condition, report it to a range officer immediately

10.  Be sure all firearms are safe to operate.

11.  Know and understand the operating mechanism and safety feature of the firearms you intend to use

12.  Use only the correct and safe ammunition for your firearms

13.  No steel core, armor piercing, tracer, incendiary, bi-metal jacket, or anything smaller than #4 buckshot may be used on this range. Rental firearms must utilize ammunition provided by Shoot North Idaho only.

14.  All patrons of the range will be held financially responsible for any damage or destruction they cause to range property, whether accidental, negligent, willful or otherwise.

15.  Eye and ear protection is mandatory BEFORE entering the range and must be worn at all times while on the range.

16.  NEVER handle firearms behind the firing line such as disassembly or manipulation drills.

17.  All firearms that are not holstered must be cased and unloaded when being removed from your lane.

18.  Keep the action open and firearm unloaded with magazines removed until ready to fire.

19.  If you have more than one firearm, use only one at a time. When finished properly case the unloaded firearm and it’s ammunition before uncasing the next one.

20.  Fire from within the booth only. All others are to be behind the firing line to maintain a safe condition.

21.  Use only official target properly taped to the backer.

22.  Upon the command CEASE FIRE: Stop all shooting IMMEDIATELY and await commands from the range officer.

23.  Shooters may only collect their own brass behind the firing line. Collecting other shooters brass or brass forward of the firing line will not be tolerated.

24.  It is strictly prohibited to draw from the holster, use a sling of any kind, remove the counter, or gate at any time unless accompanied by an authorized range officer. Members who desire to shoot from the holster with handguns must be holster qualified through our range instructors and pay a one time fee of $15 or successfully complete the Holster Presentation Class. NOTE: Blackhawk Serpa holsters are prohibited!

25.  Members who desire to shoot from different positions with long guns must be tactical qualified through our range instructors and pay a one time fee of $15.

26.  Must provide government issued ID (Passport, Driver's License, Military ID, etc). Minimum age for rental of handguns is 21 yrs old. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

27. Shooters agree to wash their hands/face after utilizing the range with provided D-Lead soap.

Failure to abide by ALL of these rules while on the range may result in you and/or your party being dismissed from the range, cancellation of membership, and/or expulsion from the range with no reimbursement.

Shoot North Idaho reserves the right to modify our rules, regulations or policies in order to protect our customers well being and safety at any time. Any modifications will immediately apply to all members and range day use customers.

I have read Shoot North Idaho Range Rules. I understand these Range Rules may be amended from time to time and that I am responsible for reviewing the posted Range Rules when I use the range facilities. I agree to obey and comply with the Range Rules, general policies and rules of operation and administration of the range.

I am familiar with and understand the operation of each firearm (rifle, handgun, shotgun, or machine gun) which I will use at the range. The word “operation” includes the safe handling, loading and unloading procedures, and safety mechanisms and features of each firearm. If I am not familiar with the operation of any above mentioned firearm, I will ask for instruction from a range safety officer before proceeding.

I agree that prior to participating in or observing any shooting activities, I will inspect the Facilities, firearms and ammunition to be used and, if I believe anything is unsafe for any reason, I will so advise a Range Officer and will leave the unsafe portion of the Facilities immediately.

I acknowledge and fully understand that I and all others engaged in shooting, coaching, observing or training with firearms at the range will be engaged in activities that involve substantial inherent risks of serious personal injury including disability or death and severe social and economic losses which might result from my actions or inactions or the actions or inactions of others; such risks include but are not limited to:

Injury, illness or death due to my failure to abide by firearms safety rules or to properly handle or use firearms or ammunition, the failure of others to abide by firearms safety rules or to properly handle or use firearms or ammunition, exposure to lead particles or lead dust, loud noises, slippery floor, loose brass casings.

I understand that such risks cannot be completely eliminated and accept full responsibility for such risks.

I recognize that I may be expelled from the Facilities for violation of the Range Rules or for behavior deemed unsafe by the range personnel. Decisions regarding expulsion are final.

I accept full responsibility for any damage or destruction I cause to the range property, whether accidental, negligent, willful or otherwise. The range property includes, but is not limited to, the facility, range equipment, target frames, target supports or mechanisms, firearms, signs, and all equipment, electrical and otherwise. The range reserves the right to recover from me a reasonable charge for any such damage and is entitled to recover its costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, incurred in bringing any claim for such damage.

 On behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, I hereby assume all risk of personal injury and accept personal responsibility for any and all damages that may occur as a result of any such personal injury, disability or death. The word “damages” includes, but is not limited to, the incurring of physical and emotional injury of any kind, loss of physical function, ability or capacity, medical expenses, lost wages or income, loss of consortium and any other compensatory damage.

On behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, I hereby waive, release and discharge Shoot North Idaho and their affiliates, and their Officers, directors, owners (members), managers, employees, agents, successors and assigns (“Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, actions or lawsuits seeking damages on account of any personal injury, disability or death occurring to myself or anyone else, caused in whole or in part or alleged to be so caused by the negligence of any of the Released Parties or caused by anyone else.

 On behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, I hereby agree to indemnify and defend the Released Parties from any and all claims, demands, actions or lawsuits for any personal injury, disability or death occurring to myself or any other person which result entirely or in part from the actions, failure to act, or negligence of myself, my guests or minors for whom I am responsible.

Membership at Shoot North Idaho will be available to persons who are legally able to possess a firearm. Range Members must be in compliance with all federal, state and local laws concerning ownership and handling of firearms. Membership will be granted, and may be revoked, at the sole discretion of Shoot North Idaho.

 I certify as follows:

(1) that I am not and have never been the subject of a criminal or any other proceeding that prevents me from legally owning, handling or possessing firearms under Idaho or Federal law;

(2) that I can lawfully own, handle and possess a firearm; and,

(3)    that all information given in this Application is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.

In the event I bring a minor to the range, the attached guardian’s release, assumption of risk and indemnity agreement has been signed by the minor’s legal guardian.

I recognize the safety of everyone at Shoot North Idaho is my responsibility and I agree not to cause harm to myself or others at the range.

I hereby state that I, the actual signer of this Agreement, am an adult over the age of 18 years, that I have read and initialed each of the above terms and conditions, that I understand everything set forth above and that I have knowingly given up substantial legal rights by signing below, which I do voluntarily.
