Range Rules

Prices:

         Lane rental fee $20/hour non-members -or- $12/hour members

         Memberships - $20/month single membership. $35/month family membership

Ammunition Regulations:

             All handgun calibers are allowed

             Rifle calibers up to, but not including .50 BMG

             Slug shotgun shells are allowed

             No buckshot/birdshot permitted

             No tracer, armor piercing, or incendiary

             No black powder permitted

             No muzzleloaders permitted

             Violation of these rules can and will prohibit you from returning to this range.



General Information

All users of the range must be at least 18 years of age or person from 10-17 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by an adult and have completed a Minor’s Waiver.

We are open to the public, but also offer memberships for those who will utilize the range more often.

Liability release and all other range associated paperwork will be completed annually.

Shooters may bring their own firearms, ammunition, and targets. We do require our ammunition only to be used with our rental firearms.


Shooter Rules

MOST IMPORTANT – Treat ALL firearms as if they are loaded!

Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

Always keep the firearm unloaded with action open until ready to use.

Always keep the firearm pointed downrange, parallel to walls and parallel to the ceiling.

Absolutely no alcohol or drug use permitted. We reserve the right to deny entry!

All firearms must be holstered, in a case or unloaded with a chamber flag present prior to entering the building.

Ear and eye protection must be worn prior to entering the range and kept on until after leaving the range.

Range safety officers have the right to inspect all firearms, ammunition, and equipment at any time.

If you’re firearm malfunctions, hold it pointed at the target for 30 seconds, set it on the bench facing downrange, and notify the Range Safety Officer.

Absolutely no drawing from the holster is permitted.

All firearms and magazines are loaded and unloaded ONLY while on the firing line.

Know the firearm you are using. If you require help or have questions, do not hesitate to ask the closest Range Safety Officer.

Shots that result in the bullet striking anything, but the backstop will result in a minimum charge of $25.00 and/or your removal from the range.

You’re to shoot at your assigned target within your lane ONLY. Shooting at another target that is outside of your lane will result in termination of the remaining range time.

No more than one shooter in the booth at a time while firing. No more than two people may share a lane. Only the active shooter may handle their firearm within their stall.

Shell casings that fall BEYOND the firing lane may NOT be collected by shooter! Please speak to a RSO prior to shooting if you would like to collect casing which fall BEHIND the firing line and do not disturb other shooters while collecting.

No bystanders in the range at any time. If you would like to watch, but not partake, please observe from the waiting area viewing window.

Please utilize the storage below the firing line bench. No belongings are to be placed on the floor behind, beside, or in front of you.

If you drop something beyond the firing lane, please notify the Range Safety Officer. The “CEASE FIRE” command will be given prior to the retrieval of the lost item.

Report any unsafe behavior or condition to the nearest Range Safety Officer.

Use only the appropriate ammunition for the firearm you are operating.

If you have any firearm or ammunition problems, such as a squib or a failure to fire keep the firearm pointed at the target and request assistance from the nearest range safety officer.

NEVER leave your booth with an uncased or unholstered firearm unless you have a chamber flag previously approved by staff. There are no excuses!

When the command “CEASE FIRE” is given, stop shooting immediately, continue pointing your firearm downrange, and await further instruction.

No foul language, horseplay, or unsafe behavior is allowed within the range or shop.

Please wash your hands after exiting the range, especially prior to eating or drinking. We have provided delead hand soap in the viewing area.

Appropriate attire is required. No open-toe shoes or sandals and no low-cut tops allowed. Spent casing are hot and can burn if contacting bare skin.

No food, drink, gum, or tobacco is permitted inside the range.

No pregnant women are permitted within the range.

No tannerite permitted within the range.

Agreement, Waiver and Release of Liability

 

Indemnification, Hold Harmless, Defense, Waiver, Release and Assumption of Risk Agreement and Application for use of S&S Weapons, LLC

I hereby make application for permitted entry to and/or use of, on this or future dates, S&S Weapons, LLC facilities for whatever purpose, including, but not limited to, the use and discharge of firearms at S&S Weapons, LLC, by me, and the use and discharge of rental firearms provided by S&S Weapons, LLC, and the services by employees of the S&S Weapons, LLC.


I represent that I have never been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor crime of domestic violence in any of the 50 United States. Maine law prohibits any person convicted of felony to be present in any environment where firearms are present.


I represent that I am experienced and skilled in the proper handling, loading, use and discharge of all firearms and ammunition I intend to use at S&S Weapons, LLC.


I understand that S&S Weapons, LLC is specifically relying on the truth of my representation concerning my experience with firearms, in permitting me entry to and/or to make use of the facility at S&S Weapons, LLC.


I also understand that if I am in any way unfamiliar with the proper handling, loading, use and/or discharge of firearms or ammunition which I intend to use at S&S Weapons, LLC, S&S Weapons, LLC will provide me instruction in the proper handling, loading, use and discharge of such firearms and ammunition.


In the event that I incur or cause an injury to myself or another person, or their property at S&S Weapons, LLC, I agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend S&S Weapons, LLC, it's owners, members, invitees, employees, agents, and assigns, from any and all fault, liability, cost, expenses of any kind (including legal fees and paralegal cost), claims, demands, contribution and/or indemnification by any other person or organization (or for subrogation by an insurer of such person or organization), and/or lawsuits, now pending or subsequently initiated, arising out of, related to, or in any way connected with, any and all actual or alleged acts or omissions, invitees, employees, agents, and assigns, in the course of my presence on and/or use of the facility at S&S Weapons, LLC, including but not limited to, the use of firearms, whether from negligence or otherwise.


In consideration of the acceptance of my application to be present at and/or use of the facility at S&S Weapons, LLC, which presence and/or use includes but is not limited to the use and discharge of firearms at S&S Weapons, LLC, the use and discharge of rental firearms provided by S&S Weapons, LLC, and the service and training by employees of S&S Weapons, LLC, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, survivors, next of kin, assignees, agents, personal representatives, and administrators, hereby and forever expressly waive, release, discharge S&S Weapons, LLC, it's owner, members, invitees, employees, agents and assigns, for any and all liabilities, rights, claims, demands, or any other causes of action whatsoever that I may hereafter have for injuries, losses, costs, and damages (including, but not limited to, damage to my property and/or for any and all illnesses, injuries, including mental or emotional distress or anguish, and other damages, including death, suffered by me) which may in any way whatsoever arise out of, be related to, or be connected with my presence at and/or my use of the facility at S&S Weapons, LLC, or the use of firearms at S&S Weapons, LLC by me and/or another, including but not limited to losses caused by: (1) the actual or alleged negligence of S&S Weapons, LLC, it's owners, members, invitees, employees, agents, and assigns; or (2) ricochets of bullet or bullet fragments; or (3) the acts or omissions of third parties; or (4) hidden, latent, or obvious defects of the range facilities, including by not limited to, the bullet traps, firearm and ammunition malfunctions, and the associated component parts of the range.


I acknowledge and understand that I will be voluntarily engaging in activities that involve the discharging of firearms which may result in the risk of serious injury, scarring, loss of an important bodily function, permanent disability, or death, and may cause severe social or economic losses due to not only my own actions, inaction or negligence, but also to the action, inaction or negligence of others or conditions of the premises or of any equipment used. Further, I acknowledge that there may be other risks not known to me or not reasonably foreseeable at this time. I further acknowledge and assume all the foregoing risks and accept personal responsibility for the damages following such injury, permanent disability, or death.


I understand, acknowledge, and agree that use of firearms is an inherently dangerous activity and S&S Weapons, LLC is a location within which firearms discharge deadly ammunition. I further understand, acknowledge, and agree that the discharging of firearms and the use of ammunition have inherent dangers that no amount of care, instruction, or expertise can eliminate. I further understand, acknowledge, and agree that I expressly assume the risk of discharging firearms by whomever discharged and the firing of live ammunition by me and/or another.


I further understand, acknowledge, and agree that S&S Weapons, LLC is an indoor shooting facility which utilizes a series of component parts, including a bullet trap to decelerate discharged ammunition, however I understand that these component parts and bullet traps of S&S Weapons, LLC do not, in every instance, contain bullets, or bullet fragments and have been known to cause ricochets which could cause serious personal injury or death and I expressly and voluntarily assume all risks of personal injury or death sustained while using the range including (1) the risk of negligence of S&S Weapons, LLC, it's owners, members, invitees, employees, agents, assigns, (2) ricochets of bullets or bullet fragments, or (3) the acts or omissions of third parties, or (4) obvious, hidden or latent defect in the range facilities, including but not limited to the bullet traps and associate and component parts of S&S Weapons, LLC.


I expressly agree that this agreement by me is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law and that if any provision of this agreement is held invalid or otherwise unenforceable, the enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not be impaired. Any offending term or provision may be amended in the least way possible by any court, tribunal, or arbitrator having jurisdiction to give as close effect to such term or provision's original intention to assure it's validity and enforceability. No remedy conferred by any other remedy, and each and every remedy shall be cumulative and shall be in addition to every other remedy now or hereafter existing at law or in equity or by statue or otherwise. The election of any one or more remedies hereunder by S&S Weapons, LLC, it's owners, members, invitees, employees, agents, and assigns shall not constitute any waiver of S&S Weapons, LLC, it's owners, members, invitees, employees, agents, and assigns right to pursue other available remedies. This agreement binds me, my heirs, next of kin, assignees, personal representatives, administrators, and executors.


I further agree that oral representations, statements, or inducements apart from the foregoing written Agreement have not been made and that any modification of the agreement will be effective only if it is in writing and signed by the party to be charged.


I have made an independent evaluation of the risks associated with my use of S&S Weapons, LLC facility, and I understand that I may consult with my attorney concerning this agreement, and based thereon, I RE-AFFIRM MY ASSUMPTION OF THE RISKS SET FORTH ABOVE.


I understand that I have read and understand these terms and agree to follow and abide by each rule and procedure of S&S Weapons, LLC.


I understand that eye protection, in the form of safety glasses and hearing protection are available for my use for free, while I am at S&S Weapons, LLC.


THE PARTIES HERETO ACKNOWLEDGE HAVING READ AND UNDERSTOOD THIS AGREEMENT AND EXECUTE THIS AGREEMENT VOLUNTARILY

 

I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THE ABOVE AGREEMENT, WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABLITY, AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT I GIVE UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT AND I DO SIGN IT VOLUNTARILY. I AGREE TO PARTICIPATE KNOWING THE RISKS AND CONDITIONS INVOLVED AND DO SO ENTIRELY OF MY OWN FREE WILL.
