Policies & Liability Waiver for Open Play Sessions

Welcome! We want Little Otters Play Cafe to be a safe, clean, and enjoyable space for all families.Please take a moment to read and agree to our policies before playing. By signing below, you understand and accept these rules for today and all future visits.

POLICIES & GENERAL RULES

  • Supervision Required: Parents/guardians must remain on-site and are responsible for supervising their children at all times. Little Otters Play Cafe staff are not responsible for supervision during open play sessions. For everyone's safety, please insure you adhere to the rules in this waiver and those posted on the walls in the playroom.
  • No Shoes in Play Area: Shoes are not permitted in the play area. Socks must be worn at all times. Grip socks are required for climbers, regular socks for adults and crawlers. They are available for purchase and may be reused during future visits.
  • Food & Drink: No outside food permitted. All snacks and drinks purchased from Little Otters Play Cafe must be enjoyed in the cafe area and never taken pass the gate into the playroom. Please leave your covered drinks on the half wall between the cafe area and the playroom.
  • Personal Belongings: LOPC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
  • Health & Illness: For the safety of all guests, anyone showing visible signs of illness (fever, cough, runny nose, etc.) will be asked to return when symptom-free.
  • Policy Updates: We may update pricing and policies without notice to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.

PARENT/GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITY

I certify that I am the parent, legal guardian, or authorized caretaker of the listed minors and have the authority to sign on their behalf. I acknowledge that staff do not provide child supervision during open play sessions, and that I am fully responsible for the safety and behavior of all minors in my care while on the premises.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand that participation in activities at Little Otters Play Cafe carries inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Slips, trips, and falls
  • Collisions with other participants or equipment
  • Equipment-related injuries
  • Illness
  • Loss or damage to personal property
  • Bodily injury, permanent disability, paralysis, or death

I voluntarily assume full responsibility for these risks for myself, my child(ren), and any minors in my care.

HEALTH STATEMENT

I confirm that neither I nor the minors in my care have any illness or condition that would endanger the health or safety of others. I agree to follow all posted policies and staff instructions.

SECURITY CAMERAS

I understand that security cameras are in use for the safety of all participants and may be reviewed if needed.

LIABILITY & RELEASE

I release, waive, and hold harmless Little Otters Play Cafe, its owners, employees, contractors, and volunteers from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or costs arising from injury, illness, property loss, or death related to our participation at Little Otters Play Cafe.

INDEMNIFICATION

I agree to indemnify and defend Little Otters Play Cafe, its owners, employees, contractors, and volunteers against any claims, suits, liabilities, judgments, costs, or expenses resulting from my or my minor child(ren)’s actions or participation.

PAYMENT FOR DAMAGES

I agree to pay for any damage to property or equipment caused by my own or my minor child(ren)’s actions, neglect, or recklessness.

ARBITRATION

Any dispute will be mediated in good faith prior to arbitration or litigation, under the laws of the State of Washington.
