Moreover, you may find it helpful to go over with your child independently. The goal of our programs is to create a fun, safe, inclusive, and constructive community where athletes can develop life skills through the sport of rock climbing. With this goal in mind, we ask that anyone participating in summer camp at MetroRock Tyngsboro adhere to the standards listed below.

- Follow all rules and policies put forth by the gym, more specifically:
- No running
- No walking under anybody who is on the wall
- No horseplay or wrestling
- Climbing gear may not be brought into the bathrooms
- Campers may not leave the building without the presence of a counselor

Medication If your camper requires any form of prescribed medication, provide written authorization and specific instructions for our first-aid trained staff to administer medication. Injury Response/Medical Emergencies In the event of an injury or accident during camp the Camp Director or Lead Counselor will take the lead and make all decisions regarding how to proceed. In the event that the Camp Director and Lead Counselor are unavailable, a shift supervisor with First Aid & CPR Training will assume this responsibility. - In the event of injuries where broken bones are suspected, a participant is rendered unable to walk without assistance, signs of a concussion are present, or any other medical emergency requiring more than basic first aid has occurred EMS will be called immediately.
- After calling EMS, parents will be contacted as soon as is reasonably possible.
- If parents are present in the building when the injury occurs, EMS will still be called regardless of if parents consent.
- Parents have the right to refuse medical help only after EMS has arrived.
Youth Belaying (10+) Belay policy at MetroRock Climbing Centers is that anyone belaying must be at least 14 years of age. Campers are able to bypass this requirement with permission from a lead counselor. Any camper aged 10 or above may learn to belay with a counselor's permission. Belay privileges are held up to the counselors' discretion and may be only given to camper’s with their explicit approval. Belay privileges may be revoked if a counselor sees a camper belaying unsafely, not doing safety checks, or if the team member is not demonstrating enough mental maturity to understand the full weight and responsibility of being trusted to belay. Belay privileges assigned to campers will be valid for the duration of camp only, and may only be used during camp hours while under supervision of camp staff. Belaying is a privilege, not a right, and belay privileges can be revoked if a counselor sees a camper belaying unsafely, not doing safety checks, or if the team member is not demonstrating enough mental maturity to understand the full weight and responsibility of being trusted to belay. I understand and agree to this policy. By signing below, I am acknowledging that I have read and understand the above policies in their entirety and agree to follow them during my childs time participating in youth programming at MetroRock Tyngsboro. |
