PROGRAM ENROLLMENTEnrollment at Georgetown Riding Academy is ongoing and monthly, not per individual lesson. Lesson spots are reserved weekly and held exclusively for enrolled riders. This agreement applies to all lesson programs offered by Georgetown Riding Academy, including but not limited to: - Tiny Tot Lessons

- Intermediate Lessons
- Private Lessons
- Academy Programs
- Homeschool & Horses
BILLING & PAYMENTSTuition at Georgetown Riding Academy is charged on a monthly enrollment basis, not per lesson. Monthly tuition reserves a rider’s weekly lesson time and assigned lesson horse, regardless of attendance, holidays, or calendar variations. - Tuition is due on the 1st of each month.
- Families may choose to pay via cash, Venmo, or credit card.
- All families are required to keep a valid credit card on file, regardless of payment method.
- Payment preferences are selected on the Credit Card Authorization Form.
Credit Card Charges & Service Fees- All payments processed by credit card will incur a service/processing fee.
- By keeping a credit card on file, families authorize Georgetown Riding Academy to charge the card for missed payments, outstanding balances, late fees, add-on lessons, or other charges in accordance with this agreement.
Prorating- Prorating is offered only during a rider’s first month of enrollment.
- No prorating will be applied after the initial enrollment month for any reason.
Late Fees- A $25 late fee will be applied if monthly tuition is not received by the 7th of the month.
- Add-on lessons must be paid within 5 days of the lesson date. A $10 late fee will apply after this period.
- Accounts with unpaid balances may result in lesson suspension until the account is brought current.
ATTENDANCE, CANCELLATIONS & SCHEDULING- A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
- Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice are forfeited.
- Missed lessons due to illness, vacations, or personal scheduling conflicts are not refunded.
Scheduling Communication- All scheduling requests, cancellations, reschedules, and 30-day withdrawal notices must be submitted through Georgetown Riding Academy’s official GroupMe scheduling chat.
- Messages sent via text message, email, social media, or verbal communication are not considered valid notice.
FIFTH LESSON POLICYSome months may include a fifth scheduled lesson day based on the calendar. - The fifth lesson is a scheduled lesson day, and participation is not optional.
- The fifth lesson may be used as a built-in makeup lesson if:
- A rider canceled a scheduled lesson with proper 24-hour notice, or
- The instructor missed a scheduled lesson during that month.
- If a rider does not require a makeup lesson, the fifth lesson will be billed as an add-on lesson for that week.
- Add-on lessons are billed during the week of the lesson and may be paid using the payment method selected on the Credit Card Authorization Form.
- Fifth lessons are subject to availability, scheduling, and horse welfare.
- Missed fifth lessons are not eligible for additional makeups or credits.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE- Riders may arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to their scheduled lesson time.
- Riders should arrive on time and be prepared for their lesson.
- Late arrivals may result in shortened lesson time without refund.
- Riders must be picked up promptly at the conclusion of their scheduled lesson.
SAFETY & EQUIPMENT- ASTM/SEI-approved riding helmets are required for all riders.
- Riders must wear appropriate riding attire and footwear at all times.
- Georgetown Riding Academy reserves the right to refuse participation due to unsafe attire, equipment, or behavior.
CONDUCT & EXPECTATIONSRiders and parents are expected to treat horses, staff, volunteers, and property with respect at all times. Unsafe, disruptive, or disrespectful behavior may result in suspension or termination of enrollment without refund. WITHDRAWAL FROM PROGRAM & REFUNDS- A 30-day written notice is required to withdraw from lessons and must be submitted through the official GroupMe scheduling chat.
- Georgetown Riding Academy does not offer refunds of any kind for riding lessons.
- Tuition is non-refundable once a billing cycle has begun.
- If a 30-day notice is submitted mid-month, the rider is responsible for the full tuition amount for that month.
ASSUMPTION OF RISKHorseback riding is an inherently risky activity. By signing this agreement, the rider and/or parent acknowledges and accepts all inherent risks associated with equine activities and participation at Georgetown Riding Academy. |
