Warning Under Massachusetts law an Equine Professional is released from liability to hold harmless of the participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to section 2D or chapter 128 of the General Law I agree to "hold Harmless" VanderZicht Stables (Located at Dutchill Downs, 61 Rawson Street, Uxbridge, MA) and its agents in the event of any accident, injury or death occurring while handling, riding, stabling, caring for or visiting horses on said property.
Riding Attire Students agree to come dressed to ride in proper riding attire consisting of: 1. Long pants: Jeans, breeches or riding tights. 2. Riding boots: Boots with a smooth sole and defined heel not more than 1½ inches high. 3. Fitted/Semi Fitted Shirt: Students will not be permitted to ride in loose or billowing clothes or dangling jewelry as it can pose a safety risk should loose items get caught/snagged on saddle or horse. 4. Appropriate riding attire for the weather/season (gloves, ear warmers, cooling towel, etc.). 5. Riding Helmet: An ASTM approved riding Helmet must be worn at all times while participating in mounted Equine Activities. We do have helmets to get started with or backup lesson helmets but we recommend purchasing your own ASTM approved helmet within the first 5 lessons. Tuition Program · At VanderZicht Stables we offer a lesson tuition program and leasing for all of our riders. · Weekly lessons are paid by the month in advance to reserve your lesson spot. In order to keep spot reserved tuition is due no later than the 5th of the current month due. Same rules apply for leases. No show lessons or last minute cancels where we are waiting in the ring with the pony will be charged full price · Tuition is a monthly average based on 52 lesson weeks per year. · Monthly tuition for 1 lesson per week is $335 ($78/lesson). · For students riding 2 times per week, base tuition is $670 (still $78/lesson).
1/2 hour beginner private lesson will be ($78/lesson) $335 tuition-
Beginner private lessons (30 mins) Learning to be independent as a rider. Once we feel riders are pushing off of the lead line price adjustment to regular tuition will be applied - age 6 and older-$260 for children 11 and under- $270 for anyone 12 and over. Tot's lesson- We will remain to stay flexible with a two hour cancellation. 4 years old and under. This is introductory and riders will not be taught to move away from the lead line. this is a temporary skill building lesson to gain balance and confidence. Riders will automatically switch to beginner lesson 5 years old and older. Students starting mid-billing cycle will be charged the single lesson price of $85/lesson until the next full billing cycle. (Riders must ride at least 1x per week to be eligible for off-site competitions or events.) Unpaid spots will not be held in the event of student’s absence for any reason. · Payment is due before services rendered – Cash, Check, Venmo or Credit invoice paid ahead · Tuition Payments · Riding lessons are to be paid in full by the month in advance. · Payment is due in full on or before the 5th of the month. Any payments outstanding after the 5th of the month will incur a $35 late fee. · Invoices are sent out via wave invoice or venmo request during the last week of each month for the next month’s billing cycle. Cash, Check, or Venmo payments are accepted with no additional service charge if preferred. · Credit Card fees are 4% if paying through wave invoice.
Cancellation Policy · Lessons MUST be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance to qualify for a make-up lesson. · Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or no calls/no shows will be charged full price for the missed lesson and no makeup will be allowed. · · Unpaid spots will not be held in the event of student’s absence for any reason. All riders in our weekly lesson program are limited to one make up ride per month.
All riders riding 2 or more times per week are limited to 2 makeup rides per month.
All cancels MUST be a 24 hour notice in order to makeup
We will have a set hour or 2 per month listed on team snap and Schedulista for the makeup ride. This will not be a detailed lesson. It will be a fun supervised flat ride to get saddle time and work on skills. This ride will be supervised, guided and timing will be adjust depending on amount of riders and level.
Makeup rides will not be transferred into the weekly lesson program. You must attend the designated makeup ride hours that are offered. If you choose not to attend a makeup ride within the month of cancelled lesson, the makeup ride will expire by the first of the month Lessons that take place during your show. will be entailed to makeup during makeup ride hours.
If we are to cancel due to weather or a horse show. You will be notified through email. Schedulista will cancel the lesson and reschedule to another day. If you can not attend the makeup day of lessons you are welcome to attend the makeup ride instead. Adjusting to outside of what is offered will not be possible. Closures for the barn will be listed on team snap, instagram and facebook. Closures apply to everyone lessons and lease riders. You will also receive a cancellation through schedulista.
School breaks, holidays and horse show adjustments. Please be sure to keep up with our Schedulista adjustments as we rely on this notification for any changes in the schedule. If your lesson is changed due to a holiday, horse show or school break and you do not show up. The lesson is unable to be made up. If you are having trouble receiving Schedulista emails please reach out to make sure your email is correct put into the system.
Planned vacation times- if you know you are going to be away a 7 day notice to change your lesson is acceptable to join another lesson option if there is availability. If you can not attend the lesson option that is offered you are welcome to attend the makeup ride hours listed.
Any offered options for makeup lessons or hours will be final options. If you choose not to attend these options your lesson makeup will expire by the 1st.
