Review the DFW Gun Range and Academy Privacy Policy

NOTICE - First-time visitors are not allowed to rent a firearm if shooting alone


All who wish to utilize the range and training facility, whether using their own firearms or a DFW Gun Range & Training Academy (DFWG) rental firearm must completely fill out this form. This waiver will be held for twelve (12) months from the completion date and will need to be completed again after expiration for access to the range and training facilities. All personal information is strictly confidential for the use of DFW Gun Range & Training Academy, LLC. to properly identify the signer, acknowledge liability and safety parameters for the signer and their actions, and document any previous incident(s). All patrons who wish to utilize the range will be asked to present their firearms and ammunition for inspection to ensure all items are not hazardous or illegal to ensure that everyone is safe to the fullest extent while at DFWG. 


DFW GUN RANGE RULES


Staff will inspect all firearms and ammunition before entry onto the range is permitted. If inspection of firearms is not permitted by a guest, they will be asked to leave. All guests with class 3 firearms without their proper documentation or any firearms/ammunition seen as unsafe or otherwise prohibited will not be allowed entry to the range. Prohibited items include but are not limited to, firearms without iron sights or an optical sight, firearms without a stock or pistol brace, tracer/incendiary ammunition, black powder or muzzle loading firearms, and armor piercing ammunition.


The only targets authorized for use are ones sold by staff members or are of the same dimensions (2ft by 3ft). Stick on targets (ex. Shoot-N-C) are authorized to use if adhered to an adequately sized target attached to the target carriers on the range. 


For the safety of our equipment, all headshots must be done at Ten (10) yards or further, all shotgun or multi-projectile cartridge must be fired at seven (7) yards or further, and all rifle caliber firearms must be fired at targets at Twenty Five (25) yards or the maximum distance the lane will allow. Any guest who causes damage to the firing range equipment, to include the lighting, track systems, walls, ceiling, safety barriers, or rental equipment will be required to pay for the damages caused. 


All guests at DFWG are required to wear hearing and eye protection at all times while on the range. Shaded lenses are not authorized for wear unless otherwise approved by members of staff.


We ask that all packing, unpacking, loading and unloading of firearms and magazines be done in your shooting bay, with firearms pointed in a safe direction at all times.


Any person who appears to be under the influence of any controlled or illegal substance, not in full control of their mental or physical faculties, impaired in any manner will be refused entry to the facility and any sales will be denied in the future. If at any point a guests actions are regarded as unsafe, they will be removed from the range area and future access will be denied. DFW Gun Range & Training Academy staff withhold the right to refuse service or access to the range for any reason. 


NOTICE


In consideration of participating in the use of the facility and equipment, I represent that I understand the nature of shooting a firearm (the "Activity") while using the facility and equipment and that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such Activity. I acknowledge that if I believe the Activity, facility and/or equipment are unsafe, I will immediately discontinue participating in the Activity.


I fully understand that this Activity involve risks of serious bodily injury, including permanent disability, paralysis, and death, which may be caused by my own actions, or inactions, of others participating at the facility, the conditions in which the Activity takes place, or the negligence of the releases named below; and that there may be other risks either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I fully accept and assume all such risks and all responsibility for losses, costs, and damages I incur as a result of my participation in the Activity.


Therefore, the applicant, for itself and its executors and assigns, releases DFW GUN RANGE AND ACADEMY, LLC. (DFW GUN RANGE) from any and all liability for personal injury or property damage arising out of the Activity and use of the equipment and/or facilities of DFW GUN RANGE and agree to hold DFW GUN RANGE free, clear, and harmless for and indemnify DFW GUN RANGE from responsibility for any and all claims and demands for personal injury or property damage arising out of such use.


I acknowledge that I have read this FIREARMS ELIGIBILITY, EXPERIENCE & RANGE SAFETY WAIVER, understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it and have signed it freely and without any inducement and assurance of any nature and intend it be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law and agree that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid the balance, notwithstanding, shall continue in full force and effect. I further acknowledge that I have read and will comply fully with the Range Rules at the DFW GUN RANGE. I agree to be held financially responsible for any knowingly willful or negligent act(s) of destruction to the range or range equipment, beyond normal wear and tear.

It is illegal for the anyone to possess, purchase, or rent firearms or ammunition who meet these. 

  • Has been convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding 1 year;
  • Is a fugitive from justice;
  • Is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance;
  • Has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to a mental institution;
  • Is an alien illegally or unlawfully in the United States or an alien admitted to the United States under a nonimmigrant visa;
  • Has been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions;
  • Having been a citizen of the United States, has renounced his or her citizenship;
  • Is subject to a court order that restrains the person from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or child of such intimate partner issued after a hearing
  • Has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence

Any Damage that has been done to the Range (i.e. Hitting the ceiling) will be charged $75.00 per hit. Shooting the Clip that holds the target will be charged $5.00 per hit.
